I mean, I’m a Pens fan so I’m going to be a little biased. But he did great in his first stint. Played top pairing minutes with Letang and didn’t look out of place. He’s just young, so mistakes started to creep into his game and was sent back down (but if we didn’t have the logjam at LD no doubt he’d be an everynighter). Sneaky good offensively. Great breakout.

Wilson doesn't matter because, frankly, he has already given the person a blindside hit concussion by that point.
And that's some real hard talk from a guy posting about hockey on a forum board. Even the worst hockey player in the league (Jack Johnson) is better than 95% of the world population lol

Feisty doesn't mean "bigger". Domi is feisty because he's willing to chase down a hit, get under people's skin, and drop the gloves.
But if it's any consolation, Domi has 20 lbs on Pettersson...

No team is going to help VGK with their cap issue. (See Tyler Johnson and TBL). They're going to have to throw in a good sweetener, especially with the economic climate of the league.

Besides Turris, who I am admittedly taking a flier on, prove that who I added is not suitable to their roles as presented -and- don't meet GMJR's requirement of younger and faster.

Stay Positive

Strome paced for 70+pts in 2019 with DeBrincat and Kahun (which was his most productive line follwed by Perlini and Cat). Meanwhile Rust couldnt even score more than 30 pts before being paired with Malkin (the same Malkin that made James Neal look elite)
Rust is almost 30 and you comparing him to Strome who is 23 makes you a clown. There is a reason why Rust toiled in the minors for almost 10 years. Also ignoring how an injury plagued season by Strome is comparable to Bryan Rust's greatest season ever. Rust will wash out of the league the moment he swaps teams unless Malkin comes with him.</div></div>

While any player would be better next to Malkin (which people forget that you still need to be a good player to play with great players), this article quantifiably proves that Rust has become a great player in his own right.

Would you rather deal with a bidding war via trade for young, relatively cost controlled assets (i.e. Jarry likely nets $2.667 AAV) OR a bidding war via UFA? We all know what happens when a bidding war starts in free agency. You sign deals comparable to Lucic, Neal, Eriksson, and Bobrovsky...

Younger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WhatNowDiscussion</b></div><div>1. No way Jarry signs a contract with that low of a cap hit for more than a year
2. Honka has greater value than what you are offering
3. The draft pick would probably have to be a first round which, if you're trying to get younger, trading away a 1st round pick probably isn't what you want to do
4. Again trading Murray for an older top 9 player is both inconsistent with your theme and doesn't help with the rebuild</div></div>
1.) It has been reported that Jarry would command a contract like Jordan Binnington of STL, which was a contract worth $8.8M. Jarry has done less than Binnington; so lets go with a contract worth $8M. There's no way PIT signs Jarry to a 1-year deal (Jarry is an RFA he has no real leverage to ask for that). No way PIt signs Jarry to a 2 year deal, because that would walk Jarry to UFA. SO a 3 yr deal of an $8M contract is $2.667M AAV.
2.) He hasn't played in a year and hasn't played close to a full season in his career. He has value based on potential. That is it. PIT is offering roster players in this scenario. It's more than generous.
3.) The likelihood of 15OV Pick making enough of an impact on the Sid/Geno window is low. I'd rather send it out for a still young player in Domi.
4.) PIT isn't rebuilding. PIT desperately needs a 3C and Ryan provides that.
