I would almost rather CBO Beagle instead of Sutter Sutter has only 1 year left while Beagle has 2 Sutter is?off the books in time for the extensions while Beagle wont. Good to Baertschi off the books. How good is Brodin? Dont know tons about him

Spending on the blueline
It will be interesting on how contenders will deal with the expansion draft. It will be hard to trade bad contracts. And as much as i like Toffoli, canucks should let him go. They need the cap and they already have Jake, who is proving to be the player that he was?drafted to be

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alwaysnextyear</b></div><div>Yep to all of that, but I'm curious if they could get anything for guys like Sutter, Ferland, Beagle, etc. from teams that those players would accept a trade to. It's more likely VAN would need to sweeten a deal and pay to get rid of their contracts, though I really hope Ferly can get healthy because I think he can be a nice contributor.
As for bridge deals, I'm on the fence as to whether they're all that bad. Yes, If you get a guy signed long term early you'll likely get really good value at the back end of the contract. But if you do a bridge deal that still retains their RFA rights at the end of it (ie. 3 year), you have that many more potential years of the player with the franchise if they sign long term after that.</div></div>
I agree. I hope Ferly can come back healthy and well because i have always been a fan. As for bridge deals, yes they are nice, the only problem i have with them is say you sign an RFA (no specific name just example) to a 3 yr 6 m per year bridge deal. All fine and dandy, until his contract is up and hes worth 9 m or something like that. Long term maybe he would have signed for 7 or 7.5, .but now you end up paying more per year long term

How good of a season is Petey gonna have to have to justify that money? I am surprised that you managed all those signings and such

What would the Canucks need to give up in order to move Erikssons full cap hit to say the Sens? No first rounders.

Wheres Mittelstadt? I wouldnt give Gauds more money than Shotgun Jake, Toffoli could probly get better money on open market, and no return of both Stecher and Tanev?

I almost would want Tanev out. Yes he has poured his heart and soul out for the team, but he never seems to stay healthy. Hes entering that age category where things arent going to get better. Canucks should walk away if he wants more than 3 years

End of a drought
Like that Tanev contract the Canucks would be dumb to give him anything longer than 3 years. I think Petey signs for more than 6.25, and why do we need De Melo and Martinez? Expensive 3rd pairing for a cap strapped team

Much the same, but that defense needs something figured out. Having Myers 3rd pairing isnt very cost effective
