Pizza Back To MN 3 Team Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>So to sum it up
ANA gets: 2022 1st (STL), 2023 3rd (STL)
STL gets: Lindholm
MIN gets: Scandella, 2023 2nd (STL)
And
ANA loses: Lindholm
STL loses: Scandella, 1st, 2nd, 3rd
MIN loses: nothing
I think something is missing here.</div></div>
Without Minnesota taking part of Lindblom cap AND taking Scandella off STL payroll, STL and Anaheim cannot complete the trade.

Who will Guerin convince to bite
As it stands right now, Arizona holds 6 picks between 31 and 43. For a team destined to play in a 5000 seat arena for the next 3 years, it doesn’t seem unrealistic that they’d give up one of those picks for a guy they could probably slot into their lineup immediately. And if other teams, reportedly, are interested it will naturally drive up the price. It shouldn’t be that hard of a concept for hockey fans to grasp.

Roster with Jost
I think this trade has more to do with next season. Guerin just found Fiala’s “replacement” for next season when the cap crunch hits in full effect.

(COL/MIN) - Jost for Sturm
Unless Jost gets flipped at the deadline or at the draft, Guerin just added $2 million to next year’s cap. I wonder if he sees Jost as a replacement (on a line with Boldy and Rossi) for when Fiala is no longer affordable.

14th overall in a weaker draft class year is a far cry from a top ten pick. This is also the deepest and best draft class since 2015 and 2003. The two best drafts in NHL history.
They're simply not the same.</div></div>
I wasn’t trying to argue with you. I’m aware of the difference between 6th overall and 14th. I was merely making light of the fact Chuck gave up a 1st and a 2nd for one year Rasmus Ristolainen (he’s not good).
Also, where are you reading that this draft class is going to be one the best? Most stuff I’ve seen has it rated as below average. It’s next year with Bedard and Michkov that everyone is gushing about. I’m just curious. Always looking for more sources of info.

What can the Flyers salvage in a second trade involving Rasmus Ristolainen
Got blasted by Leafs fans a few weeks ago for suggesting Risto ends up in Toronto, but I can still see it. The team needs to get tougher on D. Dubas needs to get past the first round. TOR needs to shed cap space for next season.
Risto with half retained for Toronto 1st, Holl and/or Richie.

I know he’s the Captain and all, but Guerin should really explore trading Spurge to Edmonton. I think that would be the one place he’d waive for. Get a high pick and prospect. Take back Barrie and/or Kassian to help make the cap work.</div></div>

Chuck Fletcher wouldn’t target Marat. He’s already experienced the agony of waiting for a Russian prospect who just signed an extension with his KHL team. He’d likely go after one of the D prospects since Philly is thin in that area.

Everyone on Philly has trash defensive numbers, but his are an improvement over his Buffalo numbers. His offense has dipped because he no longer gets as much PP time.
Maybe Risto isn’t the answer in Toronto, but there are very few defensive rentals out there, and not many better than Ristolainen. I can’t see Dubas being afraid to trade a very late 1st while dumping future cap at the same time. I think he’d be much more afraid of standing pat and losing in the 1st round again.

Look, I get the Risto hate. Especially from Leafs fans who watched him play top minutes with a **** Buffalo team. He’s been much better this year playing 2nd pair minutes on a very bad Philly team. He would be a very capable 2nd pair guy or very good 3rd pair guy on the Leafs.

Recoup futures during the offseason by dealing him then.
That said, I think we should pump the brakes until after the new year. We’ve been letting up a lot of goals, and I really don’t see us vaulting into contender status by adding Miller. It feels premature to make a significant move.</div></div>
In total agreement.
