TDLs Part 1
Why are we selling an RFA player that will fit perfectly in our rebuild and keeping Lindholm, a soon to be UFA? Do we resign him?
It doesn't matter if we get to the playoffs we are still in the rebuild. Too many UFAs this year. Losing Lindholm would suck. Losing him for nothing would bring me pain.

Man everyone has flipped so quickly. Under no circumstances should we be moving this years first. If we win 15-20 in a row ill think about it.
P.S.- This doesnt get you Brock Boeser
edit: Assuming you think the first will be in the 16-24 range

Ok. I'll definitely need to revaulate my thoughts on Shattenkirk especially in regard to his 5v5 play. But, our PP was an all-time worse last year and I do think his production this year is valuable regardless of his shortcomings shown through his GF% for example.

if getting young players in the system that experience playing with veterans is the main priority(Which I'm cool and agree with) maybe we should keep Shat. RHD is very valuable for us rn and Shat has played great this season. Moreover, this trade doesnt happen without us adding imo. We aren't in a position to lose assets. But, like ive said I would love to add a RHW.

Just rather have Shattenkirk be flipped for picks or prospects at the deadline. Dont see the team ready to be bonfire contenders or in the position to acquire 30 yo wingers.

I dont care how good the team looks rn this is a rebuilding year. We should avoid lateral moves like this imo. But I 100% agree on needing a RHW.
Edit: Not saying this is equal value but Donskoi is reaching 30. We need to target the 21-24 age range. Like Girard for example.

Not Trading Girard for Scraps
Would Hampus Lindholm and the Ducks be a realistic option? A good rental for a Stanley cup run and would give you some cap space. I know the avs are looking for a top 6 but I dont see them trading inside the division and getting those other players you've listed above.

Ducks fans question
Lindholm(8x8)-Drysdale(6mx6/7)
Fowler(untradable)-Zellweger(LHD/RHD and entry)
Thrun-Moore (entry)
Lacombe (7th/entry)
If Lindholm wants 8.5+ its time to let him go unfortunately.
Therefore, my second guess would be:
Thrun-Drysdale
Lacombe-Zellweger
Fowler-Moore
edit: This second guess has too much optimism. I doubt all these guys in our system will make it to the NHL. That said, I'm huge fan of Zellweger and Thrun.

ofc this didn't happen. I dont get the point. Why is Henrique glue to Z? It cant be for prospect development with how Drysdale is getting shoehorn into too many minutes. Henrique's value wont be going up regardless what happens.

Fingers crossed for some solid development</div></div>
Speaking of development I think this is an urgent issue. Z's long term gains are more important than the worth of these two in trade value. Dude is making stellar passes and pushing play on 5v5 GF if I am not mistaken. Why let that go to waste?

SS23 to LW
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Lines I like when healthy:
Henrique - Zegras - Rakell
Comtois - Getzlaf - Terry
McTavish - Lundestrom - Silfverberg
Steel - Groulx - Jones/Deslauriers
Lindholm - Drysdale
Fowler - Manson
Mahura - Shattenkirk
Gibson
Stolarz</div></div>
The more Zegras plays the more obvious it is he's more productive with a powerfoward(maybe grinder aswell) that has hands and can shoot decently. We seriously need to lose either Henrique or Rakell on that line. I vote Henrique personally. That said, I am so sick of hearing Comtois-Zegras-Terry. It definitely can be a great line in the future but rn we dont have that depth. Plus, Terry can be on his own line imo. Ive become a Terry believer.

Is this a reasonable Eichel price
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>For sure a cap dump will need to be included. Very few teams have the cap space and even if they do, they'll use this to dump a salary they don't want any more. The quality of prospects will determine the quality of picks and conditions and vice versa so speculating will be really hard without a starting point.
Its all but guaranteed at this point that the prospect(s) they'll get will not be elite. No Zegras. No Byfield. No Lafreniere, etc etc. so their best bet to ensure they get the best deal possible IF Eichel returns to full form is through multiple conditional picks. Not just one. That's why I think the "meat" of the trade has to be picks given.
Buffalo has to formulate the conditions of the deal as such that if Eichel comes back to the superstar he was, that they get the return they would have got prior to his injury had they traded him (Or at least something they would have been comfortable with). The same goes for the team acquiring him. If they get crappy Eichel that doesn't play the same and is often injured, they pay a bare minimum price which Buffalo sees a win regardless considering they were trading Eichel at his lowest possible value.
Im fairly certain the deal will be as follows:
-Cap dump who can still play. Not a complete waste of time player but somebody to replace Eichel on the roster and offset salary. (Henrique)
-Former 1st round prospect whose NHL ready. No stud but decent prospect. (Steel)
-Secondary prospect whose less known and basically a project. (Mahura)
-Conditional 1st 2023 (Games played, points scoring, etc - If not does not meet criteria, pick can be lessened, voided, swapped, etc)
-Conditional 1st 2024 (Games played, points scoring, etc - If not does not meet criteria, pick can be lessened, voided, swapped, etc)
-Conditional 2nd 2023 (Games played, points scoring, etc - If not does not meet criteria, pick can be lessened, voided, swapped, etc)
-Conditional 2nd 2024 (Games played, points scoring, etc - If not does not meet criteria, pick can be lessened, voided, swapped, etc)
-3rd round pick 2022
This way:
Best case - if Eichel comes back to 100%, Buffalo gets Henrique, Steel, Mahura, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd.
Worst case - If Eichel is a shadow of his former self and hardly ever effective anymore buffalo gets Henrique, Steel, Mahura, 3rd at best.
And everything in between will depend on conditional picks.</div></div>
problem with your deal here is that I'm pretty sure there can only be one conditional pick in a trade. That said, the only untouchables in my eyes are this years first and Z for the Ducks. I wouldnt be surprised a trade happened after the regular season where either the ducks didn't have a selection they wanted and or a prospect like McTavish or Drysdale didn't live up to expectations. Regardless all im saying is there is no reason that Ducks acquire Eichel during this season where it requires giving up a top 3 prospect and or a top 5 pick. Eichel better get use to the press box.

Confirmed Lines v Winnipeg
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TZ11</b></div><div>He's absolutely proving me wrong...
But I've got one question for those of you that were able to watch the game: Was there a reason why Zegras had so little TOI? Only 21 seconds more than Grant and over a minute less than Groulx. Was there a specific reason for that?
GeneralLandro OldNYIFan BuckoJoyde</div></div>
it seems they prefer to have Groulx take defensive draws over him and there is no excuse for Z to barley pass Grant (who got a game misconduct) in TOI. Therefore, my pov is it there was a-lot of penalties and that Eakins is being too cute or over protective.

is it really that bad? Rather give him time in the top 6 then being on the wing with Groulx or Lundy. Plus, our line up is already young enough and I much rather have a more veteran presence w Z taking 1st line minutes. Lastly, thinking of Sam steel and his development there is no reason to force this young guy into the lineup just because of draft position.
Anyways, happy opening day. Excited to get back into hockey.

Mactavish is in no way untouchable but an unprotected first already puts this trade over top for this franchise. Incompetence on the sabres end on making Eichel's recovery go into the 2021-2022 season will not get rewarded.
