I think no one wins this trade unless the 2nd and Calle become legit NHLers. I genuinely think Pittsburg stayed the same. If anything they got worse for a Stanley cup run.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Salzy</b></div><div>Huge W for the Ducks, Verbeek era off to an amazing start</div></div>
hear me out, I'm glad a trade happened nor did I expect top prospects but this is not a "huge W". We have to see what these draft picks become. Imo I can see this trading becoming an inconsequential transaction that has prolonged the rebuild. Draft pick value is smoke and mirrors. But at least Verbeek is doing his job and keeping to his word.
EDIT:
Maybe not "smoke and mirrors" but its not concrete.

I dont think this return is underwhelming given the circumstances but this trade is a win for the bruins if they resign him to a reasonable contract.

I dont. A late first, mid 2nds, a warm body and another Larsson like Dman. Bruins are gonna resign him and be the winner of this trade. Plain and simple.

Rakell for Pettersson and Kapanen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chigurrhh</b></div><div>Rakell has absolutely declined from his peak. Fans tend to have a hard to grasping when that happens. "How dare you say this guy who was good in 2016 isn't that good anymore!" It's dumb and you should stop. Accusing me of bias for that is hilarious. Have some self-awareness, bud.
Rakell this year:
<img class="for_img" src="https://i.imgur.com/uwRCA3T.png" alt="uwRCA3T.png">
Rakell when he was really good:
<img class="for_img" src="https://i.imgur.com/PH09geO.png" alt="PH09geO.png">
Pettersson replacing Lindholm in the lineup doesn't mean he's as good as Lindholm. He's a solid middle pairing guy that does well defensively.</div></div>
I come from the pov if Verbeek gets a 2nd and a b- prospect for Rakell he did well on the trade. Im just saying your pitch is awful. Kapanen is probably gonna be more expensive and less productive than Rakell. On the other hand, Pettersson is serviceable as you say. But, ANA should not be taking up contracts like his. Thus, this is less of "How dare you say this guy who was good in 2016 isn't that good anymore!" and more of a "Not in the mood to be swapping chairs and letting the pens off easy for their mistakes." Rakell is a fine player. Will probably reach 20 goals this year and is pretty cheap. IDK this trade seems like a bad deal and is oddly beneficial for the Pens, who are at the end of their competition window.

Rakell to the Pens would be cool but its gonna be for future assets. Not in the mood to be swapping chairs and letting the pens off easy for their mistakes.

I like it. had the same pov with Manson to Carolina. But something about recent interviews with Verbeek and his want for big defensemen makes me think Bear or a forward like Tippet won't be someone he will be targeting. We shall see tho.

Manson either signs a 2-3 x2-3 mill or he's got to go. Paying him a penny over 3.5 mill is a grave mistake imo.

Also want to add this ACGM is the example of "keeping the band together" I like these guys but lets not pretend we had any hits. Its been a brutal journey these last 5-7 years. I do like adding Forsberg tho.

TDL and Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jded</b></div><div>Nooo you don’t trade away an Isac Lundestrom. Make it Comtois. Lundestrom is so underrated, totally not at his peak. He’s going to anchor the Ducks third line for years to come. He’s an awesome 2-way forward that continues to improve, and a great complement to our other future #1 and #2 centers in Zegras and McTavish. He goes nowhere. Z, McTavish, Terry, Lundestrom, and Drys are untouchable.</div></div>
so you're one those people who think Lundestrom is the next Samuel Pahlsson?
Jokes aside read the description. If there is a young guy that should be traded its Lundestrom. His value will be the highest it will ever be and lets be honest he's not great. Although I would make the argument that his play is diminished by Dallas Eakins and the way he deploys his lines but in no way he's a shutdown center. He will be a fine two-way forward but if we could ever trade him into a player like Chychrun you do it no questions asked. Moreover, trading Comtois rn would be a mistake. Let try and build his value up.
Not advocating for these guys to be moved, especially since some of these trades are unrealistic but you need to reevaluate Lundestrom. I think hes overrated and I would cite this comment as an example.

I'll keep saying it. Comtois is at his lowest value rn. No reason to trade him. That said, I bet we try to retain as much value as we can from the offseason. Or better yet, we let Eakins go give him more mins in the top 6 next year and then trade him for a better package idk. Not like hes a gonna be a UFA next season.

Would you accept this?
Keep in mind that
1) He's injured right now and I'm not sure on his timetable
2) He's probably gone at the end of the season
Dermott gives you an upgrade in your bottom 6 for the rest of this year and next, at a pretty decent cap hit.
I don't think Manson gets a first, so a very good prospect (that doesn't count against the 50 contract list) and a second seems pretty fair with a replacement piece
Honestly, I'd love to go after Lindholm, but the Leafs would have to blow their brains out to get him, and we need help on the right side.
I've always been a big Manson fan.........Josh, not Charles.......</div></div>
Its a no simply by idea of trading Benoit for Dermott. Benoit is solid on the 3rd paring and has elevated play of other young players like Mahura. Moreover, I dont think we get a 1st but we literally got Fluery for Hakanpaa last year. I bet we can get a decent deal thats probably better then this. Also the leafs need to go for Lindholm. This isnt the year to settle. They can't lose in the first round again.

My question is, are the Ducks going to be sellers? Their early success this season caught pretty much everyone off guard. Would be pretty demoralizing for all the players to finally be looking at a playoff spot only to have management sell.
As an Oilers fan, I can only hope that Gibson would become available and that this is all that it would cost.</div></div>
It would be tough to imagine the Ducks deal an elite goaltender to a division rival in the middle of his prime tho. Obviously this trade is an absolute yes for the Oilers like how its absolutely never going to happen. Under no circumstances I see the Oilers and Ducks making trades involving prominent players that have contracts beyond the 2021-2022 season.

Lindholm would be signed already if this is the money he was looking for. It's probably more realistic hes dealt at the deadline then extended unfortunately.

Intention would be a pretty weak reason to get hold off on trading him when that intention has probably been clear since the club could extend him. That said, what team/gm wouldnt have the intention on resigning a Lindholm? Waiting till the offseason to resign is awfully risky and would leave us with in a bit of dilemma if it didn't come to fruition like it has many other times in the NHL. We shall see tho. I hope he resigns. Id offer him an 8.5X8. That might not even do it if you consider state taxes and the free agent market. Nonetheless, I do agree with your point here I just dont think its applicable to Hampus Lindholm.

Lindholm will be 8+. Manson needs to go. Dont put Lundy on the wing hes a bonafide 2 way center imo. Benoit beat Mahura out and should become our full-time 3rd paring LD.
