Get Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny54</b></div><div>OldNYIfan as I responded to you in another thread...Eichel went about his way of getting traded by going public with him and the Sabres not agreeing on surgery. I hate to keep quoting the "insiders" but Friedman has said the Sabres want to move on from Eichel. Actually Adams did an interview with LeBrun (the Athletic) today Adams talked about the young core as being Dahlin, Cozens and Mittelstadt never mentioning Eichel, Rinehart or Ristolainen. Friedman said today on his podcast that he was talking to a person from a team that the ask is high and when asked what it was the person said that he couldn't divulge it at this time. He also said that another team said that if the trade doesn't happen soon they are out.
I think the Sabres plan is a complete rebuild without saying that...I think that's the reason why Adams wants another top 10 pick. Then stink again this year and hopefully get in the top 3 for next years draft.
I think the only thing that holds up a trade is if it doesn't get close to his asking price. Adams may give in a little but he isn't going to have another ROR trade go down. I think he goes the Sakic route and holds true to himself. <a href="/users/Tjm220" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Tjm220</a> makes so many valid points but in the end I think Eichel is a goner sooner than later, later being the draft and there will be a ton of 'I told you so's' on here both ways.
Personally, I am exhausted with waiting for this trade to happen but once it does Rinehart will follow shortly for those that missed getting Eichel. Rinehart is the perfect get for LA in my opinion.</div></div>
They're definitely doing a complete rebuild. The rumor is that Adams wants all futures, I think this is a three year plan. Get pieces this year and next, then go for it in 2023-2024.

That's one spectacular line, and there's enough talent left to fill out a pretty decent team.

Thread:
Get Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>I think it’s time we all begin to accept the idea the Jack Eichel is not getting traded this summer. Despite all the bluster from every media outlet hoping they can be right, it’s clear buffalo will not be fleeced in return for Jack Eichel, and if that means he has to wait then so be it. I expect he needs to return healthy and prove that he is still an elite player. Then when teams are prepared to meet Buffalo’s asking price that’s when you’ll see a move if there is going to be one.
For that matter it may not even be this season. While it would not necessarily be ideal, even with a no movement clause kicking in after this season, Buffalo can still field offers if Jack still wants to leave. I expect he only goes when someone meets their asking price, and whether it’s a team he wants to go to will not be a factor even with a no movement clause. Buffalo is not obligated to trade him even if he wants to leave. If they get an offer they like from a team he doesn’t want to go to, at that point they approach him and say waive the no movement clause or you’re not going anywhere. If he wants out badly enough he’ll waive the no movement clause to go anywhere that isn’t here.</div></div>
I totally agree, Buffalo isn't going to just give him away, they want fair value in return. Hopefully his neck heals and he doesn't require surgery. If he needs it, I think he'd have the fusion and recovery time is 6 to 8 months. Then we'll see what happens next summer. I'm content with the Sabres finishing dead last again. One positive is that hopefully they get lucky again and win the 1st pick and draft Shane Wright. Then maybe they can convince Eichel to stay.

Who knows if he actually needs surgery. There's no news coming out about his neck at all in Buffalo. The Sabres doctors thought rest and therapy would be best. The surgery he wants only a few athletes have ever had.

Eichel and Risto for WPG pkg
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wagsnags</b></div><div>I very much so appreciate fans who will call it straight.....
Wow I always try to offer a well thought out rebuttal to a trade so I will continue that trend with the following:
A disclaimer that if GM Adams were to make this trade he would find himself being walked through downtown Buffalo with people throwing spoiled fruit and other rotten items at him while they screamed SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME (just like Cersei's Walk of Atonement on Game of Thrones):
You offer no Premium Top Prospect in this deal instead you throw the Sabres 2 players who may never be good enough to stay in the NHL and a prospect that has sort of stalled in his development with a 1st Round Pick (I was shocked by you including the 1st Round pick I figured it would have been a 4th Rounder).
If you want Eichel & Risto then the Jets would have to do something like this package:
1. Cole Perfetti
2. Simon Lundmark
3. Nikolas Ehlers
4. Andrew Copp
5. 1st Round Pick 2021</div></div>
I think your proposed trade is spot on. Well done!

I truly believe Eichel is going to either LA or Vegas. LA can make can make the better deal. The Kings need to make the playoffs. If Rob Blake wants to keep his job he needs to have a big off-season. Plus they can afford to trade for Eichel, they have plenty of prospects and cap space.

LA is able to move Quick and his 5.8 million salary in the deal and move 3 Top Prospects and a 1st Round draft pick..... GM Adams says check on the 4 Top assets for his captain plus an NHL ready DMan that demonstrated he can play at the NHL level as a bottom pair to start but should elevate to the 2nd pairing in a year or two when LA will need it.
I might add a sweetener if I am GM Adams (the Sabres 5th Round 2021 Pick).</div></div>
Thank you.

Which Eichel trade is the most fair
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>And what I'm saying is, they aren't.
1st of all, both your other guys there project as wingers. Michkov is already a winger. Bedard is gonna project as winger due to his size.
He is maybe 5'9. That is already a huge blow to them value wise. Centers are way more valuable than wingers. No one has any doubt Wright is coming in as a C.
Unless Bedard finds some magic growth spirt he's gonna end up on a wing or dominated on the dot. Just go look at Jack Hughes and his 35% FO. That is honestly his most likely comparable.
The only reason he plays center at 15 is because the rest of the kids aren't that good. It's a different story at the NHL level.
You want to talk about Tourny, we don't have numbers to compare there.
If you want to compare them this year, Wright was by far the best player on team canada in the 5 games he played. Period. That's a horrible argument for your point. He stepped on the ice after not playing hockey all year and dominated.
As for the Russian kid, we'll see. Again there really is no apples to apples comparison here. But he's a winger.
Wright didn't play but 5 games of hockey last year due to the third Reich of canada not allowing kids to play hockey so you're never really going to have much of a comparable here. Everything will be skewed.
But everyone who watched and covered that u18 team said Wright was by far the best player on it. It wouldn't have mattered if Bedard was a year older or not.</div></div>
Haha 😄🤣😂

Is Lafrenière a franchise player?
If they are we really haven't seen it yet.
I mean honestly. Wright is suppose to be a generational player. Now we don't know that for sure, because he hasn't got there yet. But he's probably the best player since Crosby to come out the draft.
That's saying a lot to considering McDavid and Matthews have both had great careers so far.</div></div>
What I'm saying is Connor Bedard is better than Wright is right now at 15yrs old. Look up the stats, and did you see his performance at the world u18? Again he's 15! And i believe Michkov is better now than Wright is also. Again look at what he did at the tourney. Would I like my team to draft Wright, absolutely! But would I rather have either of the 2023 top 2, yes. Only time will tell.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>eh the 23 draft is ok. Don't get me wrong it's better than the top of the Hughes draft, and maybe even last years.
But 22 is the year everyone wants 1st overall. You just don't find guys like Wright in the draft often. There is no need to over hype him like some of these other guys have been. He's had NHL skill since he was 15-16 years old.</div></div>
Wright is fantastic but 2023 has at least 2 can't miss franchise players.
