Depth move for both clubs. Can't imagine the cost on either side would be much more. Could work.

If I drank coffee I'm sure it'd be all over my desk right now. A broken player and a 3C is way too much for a Top 10 pick, a 20 year old top six player? You owe it to yourself to watch this guy play. No way that offer comes close to being enough.

New comish that will make hockey more watchable
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Watty1</b></div><div><i>As a goalie myself I can't get onboard with the first two suggestions.
1. Bigger nets is stupid - Gretzky scored 894 goals with these nets
2. If you are going to decrease the gear, it better be safe. They have yet to prove they can downsize safely and protect goaltenders.
If the NHL wants to increase scoring it needs to call all the obstruction that happens in the slot. Maybe even make shot-blocking illegal. When you get the best shooters in the world in the slot - they still score plenty. You don't need to make the nets bigger or shrink the goalies drastically.</i></div></div>
I don't think asking goalies to wear XXL size shirts instead of size XXXXXXXXXXXL is a safety issue. I'm not on board with no goalie masks. But the leg pads, blocker, the glove, those seem like areas that can be shrunk without compromising safety. I know some have talked about removing the between the legs piece that helps block the 5 hole. I'm not going to ask for that as that does seem like a safety issue.
Honestly though before that changes, if the goal is to increase scoring, try having the officials enforce the rules. No more of this clutch and grab style of hockey. Call interference. Call the penalties. Just like the NFL got more scoring by enforcing pass interference, Hockey would get more scoring by calling interference and similar fouls.
Do it consistently. Not for the PPs but because the style of the game would change. Offense would flow as all this clutch and grab garbage died out. Try that before we alert fundamental parts of the game like net and rink size.

No. None of those are necessary. Closest is the Ehrhoff acquisition. But LAK aren't going to be taking in Salary right now.

And why would the Leafs want to downgrade their C position? The difference between Boyes and BB doesn't fill the gap between Bozak and Bonino.

1/4 on the trade front for these.</i></div></div>
From everything I've seen Pearson for a 3rd is the going rate. Nichushkin is on the block and yes he's a tremendous prospect. Getting a first line wing in return plus dumping the bad Hemsky contract is a good return. What more do you think it needs? And I'll just refer you to previous post on the other deal.

Their D is pretty terrible. I still think in the right system Cole can be a serviceable player. At this point someone can get him for a mid round pick; but Arizona didn't have one. So I picked a prospect that could be stuck getting bottom 6 minutes with Boedker, Domi, Duclair, and Reider ahead of him.

STL is committed to Allen. They won't be interested in Murray+ for Shattenkirk.
Dumolin for Yakupov is if nothing else interesting. I'm sure last year that people would've swapped Pouilot for him. I don't think I'd do it, and I think that solution for EDM D help would be pretty far down their list. But it's at least an idea.

I guess I'm the only one but I honestly think what the Pens need is forward depth. Their bottom 6 hasn't been on the score sheet much at all this year. Adding some cheap scoring would be valuable. Boedker would be good depth scoring, but not cheap.

I don't think you can get that Cap Hit and Term for Boedker. He'll want at least one more big money deal before he hits age 30. And by big money deal I mean a lot more than $4.5m.

Schultz is a poor player. That's pretty much all that needs to be said.
Now let me just preempt you pulling Schultz's HERO or WARRIOR charts to try and convince me that he's actually pretty good. Schultz has 680 minutes of ES TOI. He's spent about a third of that with Taylor Hall (216). His CF% with Hall is 54%. His CF% without Hall is 44%. Schultz's figures are propped up by his linemates. He isn't very good and certainly not worth $4m.
While it's a good idea to look for young players in bad situations as trade targets, Schultz isn't one of those players. Hard pass.
Side note: Oil are at 49 contracts and can't do a 3 - 1 trade. You could toss in a pick instead of Rust (because Rust has a place on the Pens in the future) and make it work.

I think with all your Cap Space I would've bought some of Maatta's UFA years. Even at $4.25m it'd be good value. And I think it's time for Murray to graduate from the AHL. That'd save you money for not resigning JZ.
Is Pearson worth a 2nd? I'm seriously asking. I just know that the Kings are looking to move him as he's not developing how they thought he would.

Yeah pretty much this. Neither is a bad player. But Saad is the guy you take due to age. He even now probably has a better 'all around' game than Kessel. Nothing wrong with that just how it is.

I said it because Murray is set on Fowler being the cornerstone franchise defenseman the Ducks need. The team that wants Fowler is going to get fleeced and have a cap dump going to their team if Fowler is being moved</i></div></div>
Then why has he been rumored to be on the trading block all year?
