Montreal Canadiens signed Logan Mailloux (3 Years / $902,500 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kaljakori</b></div><div>What does that have to do with this case where he was 2 months away from being a legal adult? We seriously need to stop babying people who do things like this. Yes, even a minor knows what Mailloux did was wrong. His punishment wasn't even a slap on the wrist, it was somehow less than that. If he did it 2 months later he'd face automatic jail time. How do you not see the problem of defending his minor status?</div></div>
i dont see the problem at all of defending his minor status. ( there is no such thing as automatic jail time by the way for that kind of offence). and once again, if you feel the punishment was not enough, it can be a valid point. but i believe in readaptation. if mailloux can show he his willing to repent for his action, i dont think preventing him from becoming a nhl player is the right thing to do just to make some people happy. fun fact : if he had done his crime in canada, no one would have known because the records are secrects here for minor, but not in sweden. just different legal system. (not an excuse for anything, just a fun fact).

"But can't people make mist-" In this case no. This is professional sport and the players should represent the elite of their sport. The systemic problem all pro sport has with letting dirtbags keep their jobs is undeniable and if you don't think so, you're frankly part of the problem.</div></div>
LOL have you ever watch professional sport? Lionel Messi, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, half the NFL ..... Sport is full of junkies, criminals and sexual predators, but sticking it to a young man who made a minor offense is so much easier....

hello! friendly neighborhood mod here (though i haven't been around the neighborhood much for a while; life, work, mental health issues, and the like have gotten in the way).
quick reminder, from the Forums Rules, "Removal of Posts" section:
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>Posts that are sexist, racist, ethnic, gender related, homophobic, malicious, illegal, or in any way discriminatory or hurtful to anyone will not be tolerated. not that anybody is currently in trouble, but it's worth re-establishing for newer forum users, especially on a thread as likely to be a hot-button topic as this is.
that'll be all from me; carry on.

Wait a second, Minn had to leave space for Parise and Suter, that's 12.743588 off of 82.5 and they still have 5.738 mill in Cap Space.... Who is Mr Guerin chasing with 5.7 mil in Cap Space?

The Ducks got a good D-man on a good contract for nothing. How can you vote anything but Ducks.
And don't say, "Cap space is expensive." This isn't a cap dump by Minnesota, because Dmitry Kulikov wasn't overpaid.

If I had a nickel every time detroit traded for and subsequently signed a mid 20s goaltender coming off a late but albeit impressive rookie season (despite less than half a season of playing time) playing behind a strong defense with the intent of making him their new starter... I'd have two nickels. But it's weird that it happened twice. In a row

Eh, I’m not sure he’s a C. At this point, I’d love to see him develop into a B6+ guy. Very fast, great at PK; problem is his legs tend to get in front of his hands, so to speak.</div></div>
With the additions of Cole Sillinger, Kent Johnson, and Kuraly have strengthened the center position for the foreseeable future. That’s not to mention Jenner and Jack Roslovic, who were already on the roster, making for very few opportunities for Foudy to break onto the team.
I don’t see him reaching his full potential if he stays with CLB but at this point I hope he can just stay healthy

(MTL/VGK) - Weber for Dadonov
For the people going on about how the Ducks were getting 2nd with Dadonov keep in mind that happened at the trade deadline when Vegas needed cap space or they couldn't ice a full lineup while in a playoff race. That's a different market than the offseason when teams can exceed the cap by 10%. Overall I like this for MTL, they get a slightly overpaid 20 goal guy that they should be able to flip at the TDL, and if he performs as wells as the last cap dump they got from Vegas (Tatar in the Pacioretty deal), the return might be impressive. Vegas gets immediate cap flexibility, but LTIR isn't a cure for their cap issues.
