Lines to try once healthy

If anything Simon will be the one to sit</div></div>
I do agree with you. I like the above lines, but for a 4th line spot I think ZAR for sure slots in over Simon - that way he and Rodrigues both kill penalties. Bjudgstad is still such a wild card, who knows if/when/where he gets into this team? We may need his face-off taking ability, which would push McCann back out to LW

Penguins probable lines rn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchMarnerElite </b></div><div>What don’t you agree with?</div></div>
Sheary is a borderline ECHL player? He's driven possession on a terrible Sabres team (playing with Vesey and Johansson) and Kahun is not a legitimate top-6 forward. Someday, maybe. But he's already 24 so he's not exactly a top prospect either. Sheary's underlying data is better than Kahun's (possession/shot generation/etc) while playing on a bad team (yet still one of their better players). I'm not exactly ****ting rainbows over the trade, but to get two versatile players for 1 who we likely couldn't re-sign this off-season is still pretty decent work. Especially with Aston-Reese out indefinitely, Rodrigues is also a perfect player to slot in for him.

Is Goodrow worth a first rounder
Absolutely not. But for a cap crunched team desperate to win a cup, adding 2 players vastly outperforming their deals, and signed thru next year is HUGE. And you got that.

Kahun never even played center when the Penguins were without Crosby/Malkin, Bjugstad, etc. - Nor did he in Chicago, so I wouldn't count on that?

I dunno, I think Kahun is a bit overrated. I liked that he was an RFA and we could have gotten assets for him in the off-season (if we didn't think we could re-sign him), but Sheary is abetter fit for top-6 minutes. Additionally we get a fast bottom 6 player who can kill penalties and replace ZAR's steady fourth line minutes while he's out. Prob a fair trade

Desmith for depth What do you think Colorado
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nights_King93</b></div><div>I'd bet money that they retain Murray and Jarry this offseason. Remember they are RFAs. Unless they trade one for a great haul, they will be there for the Pens to try two more cup runs before Sid and Geno fall off.</div></div>
Let me know the last time having 2 goaltenders combining for over $10 mil has worked. Pens aren't that stupid, nor do they have the cap. Already gave Petterson a $3.1 mil raise, and they have to pay McCann, Kahun, Lafferty, Simon, and if they don't sign Riikola or Ruhwedel they need to sign a 6th dman. Schultz is going to be gone, and even if the cap goes up by $2mil, they are entering the off-season with $14.5 million in cap space. Try and make that work, I'm all ears.

DeSmith is the Pens backup in 20-21, they aren't going to deal him for a rental (who won't even crack the lineup).

Murray trade
Penguins won't deal Murray mid-season. He's back to his usual self and playing lights out since January. Offseason is where to watch the Penguins, with both goalies being RFAs. Cap world it's not ok to pay 2 goalies over $10 million, which would end up being the case if they go in that direction.

I think they could, it would just mean the 2020 1st round pick is now locked in as belonging to Minny and no longer has conditions on it. This would be because the condition give the Pens the option to move it to 2021

Wrong - It's a 1.9 million increase friend. Staal is signed through 2023 vs. Bjugstad 2021 guy. No chance Pens acquire Staal bud

Yea I like Granlund, but don't see it happening with 1. What he's valued at right now and 2. Roster spots open on the Pens - There's something to having young & hungry players in your lineup come playoff time and we don't have many spots left. Need 2-3 players who haven't been there before that will run around like they're high on cocaine. I like the idea of Kahun, ZAR (I'll still classify him here), Blueger for sure. Then next guys in being young guys willing to die for a playoff W, and i'm not crazy about his size/speed and if he'd be a fit.

He would be bottom pairing dman with Schultz once Dumoulin is healthy. Until then, he's likely still better next to Letang vs. JJ

Personally think Daley is done, doesn't have the legs. Better off going after a sizeable defensemen who can eat shots if/when we have to play Washington/Tampa and may need it.. I'd go after Dillon (like everyone else), Borowiecki, or Scandella. Latter two wouldn't cost too much either

I have to say having saw that TB game last night. WTF was the speed so many people say Zucker has?
He looked like he was average speed on the penguins. People made him out like he had Tanev speed.
Of course I already knew this. So many teams claim their players are fast but you drop them next to speed guys and it's like yeah, he's average. It's the same thing with the wingers coming out of LA. Buyer beware.</div></div>
Totally with you. He didn't show it last night, but for me he moreso just looked like he was playing hesitant vs. slow. I would have preferred we target Kreider, but need to give this guy a hand full of games before dissecting his game.
