That Wild deal is so incredibly bad for Minnesota, and the Islanders deal just as bad for New York

Islanders off-season moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lightman13</b></div><div>Sorry but that’s dumb. The wild would already be taking back 5.5m in cap and giving up a very productive player. You turn a 5.5m black hole into a 7.5m productive 25g 60p player for 2m more a year. And in real dollars his last 3 years are 4m. As far as anyone should be concerned that’s a 13m cap swing in your favor. And should cost you more. Plus if he retires or you buy out parise, it’ll be cheaper those last few years than Ladd now.</div></div>
Ok then the trade is dead. The isles have 3 RFAs to sign, they’re not adding salary and trading one of the top 4 D.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles13</b></div><div>- I think STL needs to dump cap not add
- Ur gonna have to pay to get rid of Leo
- don’t think we’re going to get a 2nd out of Leddy, prob a 3rd</div></div>
I'm going off STL losing Petro. They'll need a stop gap to replace a RHD and a future to replace him. Wilde is going to be a a very good 2 way D man, has great size and can skate.
No idea where OTT is headed but if it's a young roster, they're going to want a good vet in Komarov to help in the locker room. I don't think they'll have to pay as much as people think.
LA has 3 2nds and the VGK 2nd is not a valuable 2nd

looks like a good future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Why would a rebuilding team trade away 2nd round picks? In both of those trades I think Detroit is better off with their picks. The 2 cap dumps if Detroit takes on one of these it be only one of them and from what i've read and heard a deal with Vancouver is more likely but I doubt Vancouver wants to part with Rathbone and Detroit would want more than a 3rd. With a flat cap and $6M for 2 seasons is going to be some what expensive.
Honestly why would Hall even consider signing in Detroit? He would have been better off staying in NJ.</div></div>
Because Hall wants to build a legacy by being the player winning the most draft lotteries in NHL history. He already won 3 with Edmonton, 2 with New Jersey. If he can add 2-3 with Detroit, the NHL should rename the draft lottery after Taylor Hall I think. And then his name will be remembered in hockey forever.
I mean How many people remeber Conn Smythe for who he was and not for the trophy? Or Maurice Richard? They will live forever due to their trophies

His chemistry works out very nicely on all 4 lines with the current coach. Should be a quality depth player for us who can step into a bigger role if need be

The thing is cizikas isnt even a cap dump. He’s one of the better 3Cs in the league -if the isles wanted to trade him, their would be multiple teams interested in a high end 3C for one year @3.35 per

So like, did all those GMs commit felony crimes and Kevyn Adams was the only witness? I know he's a new GM but come on, he suggests any of that and all of a sudden he's on several teams's blacklist.

Buy High
Isles aren't trading their franchise center for a guy half of Nashville wants to run out of town and a flopping prospect. We can just bridge Barzal at a lesser AAV than $8m if necessary

Such a lineup sure looks good
Not worth it for TOR. Isles would do that in a heartbeat, even though I think from a locker room perspective we'd rather have Eberle. Not to say Nylander is a bad locker room guy, but Barzal is head over heels for Eberle, and they play on the same line.

Nylander is certainly a big help but the Isles are losing more "important" (meaning relative to their own team) than they are getting back. Beau is turning into a bonafide beast. I'd....pass?
