Does this make sense
From a cap perspective for LA, maybe they’d think about that but otherwise it wouldn’t happen. I’d say them not wanting to trade Durzi in that deal makes it a greater than 0 chance they wouldn’t do this trade

I would wonder if Dubas would ask LA about ****emo. He's a Swedish winger with a great shot and has a knack for scoring goals and scored 27 in the AHL last season. I don't know if he would be a comparable for necks but he certainly would have some upside

Kempe is a top six winger so if you were to play on Calgarys third line then this trade would make no sense. But it would make sense in the event that Calgary cannot keep Gaudreau, Thachuk , and Mangiapane. Well of course you guys wouldn't trade him one for one, you're desperate to have him play on your middle pairing with Tanev.Otherwise you would just be overvaluing him in comparison to Kempe

Cap flexibility can never be overstated. The main thing to focus on is definitely Dubas being in a contract year and desperate in someway for them to succeed past the first round. You would be hard-pressed to think of another GM in the league who would be more desperate then him

You also have to take into consideration that a it pertains to Nylander, Dubas will not be dealing from a position of strength as much as desperation. 5 first round exit and it's compounded with the overall pressure of succeeding in Toronto. What's overall stats a lot of his underlying stats were some of the best of his career. The three previous seasons the team wasn't very good so that couldn't have helped and I am sure Dubis would be getting him because of his playoff résumé. Because of his competitive nature and playoff experience he would be someone that could probably get them at least to the second round and would also probably play well in front of a very good Toronto team.

Let the Youngins Play
I don't see Turcotte be given up on and his 2 concussions last season wouldn't be attractive to teams currently. For a team that lacks scoring, especially on the PP, it's a shame Vilardi isn't used more often in those roles consistently in the NHL. He was a part of the reason Ontario had the best PP in AHL history last season. He has amazing hands in close and has a laser of a shot and could probably be a 20 goal scorer if utilized to his full potential. I don't see him earning McClellans trust to do so and will probably be traded in the near future

Makes sense from an LA perspective. Need to unload a RD and Walker makes the most sense. Plus, Johnson is Kings prospect Brock Fabers defensive partner in college so long term that could be beneficial to the organization

Possibly
Thinking about it recently, this is essentially how I had the lineup next year looking. I didn't think of Laine to be honest and I wonder that even with his goal scoring ability, if he would be able to thrive in McClellans system and if he would have a short leash under McClellan as a whole. Otherwise, there's Forsberg but he'll probably command the most $ but I was interested to see what Fiala or even Burakovsky would ask for in free agency

LAOntario Defenseman
I think Faber goes pro but takes the Mikey Anderson route and plays 1 year in the AHL before coming up. Clarke from everything I hear has the ability to play Pro but certainly would have detractors in his way from making the Kings, unless he makes the team as the 7th defenseman which is not beneficial to him or the team long term. I remember Walker playing his off side but I think he would be a casualty over Durzi if/when we get the LD everyone has been talking about. I agree that they're probably thinking about a top line winger but I wonder how Kempe and his new contract presumably affects that process and the cap space available to do so. Either way, we're in a good place with a lot of good problems to have and I'm at least content about that reality at the current time

Makes too much sense
I'm partial to Vilardi, he's got a great shot and size and is a threat on the Powerplay that LA needs, plus he'd be the 3rd forward that is right handed other than Brown and Arvidsson in LA which is obscure but I don't think counts for nothing. I think LAs system has an over abundance of " average " size defenseman (6'0 - 200lbs) give or take and I think Grans size at only 19 may make him more coveted by the organization I would imagine compared to others. I like JAD and everything he brings but we'll have to wait and see what Blake does with Lizotte as I've mentioned in this post ad nauseum. Lol All this said, I agree it's reasonable and realistic to have any 4 of those prospects included in a deal. Just not these 3 that I listed, or at least I'd hope if I had to choose . Lol

Essentially it wouldn't be I can agree. Just giving the player who at this point belongs in the NHL an easier path since he may not be able to accomplish that with the Kings as long as Lizotte is around

All things considered, this could be a best case scenario from a Kings perspective. The only thing I'd wonder about is maybe adding JAD to the trade since he's killing it in Ontario and has done everything the club has asked of him. The only unforeseen variable is how well Lizotte has played, and how much I would assume his teammates and coach like him overall . It just seems like JADs path is blocked with Lizotte in the lineup and possibly signed for the future since he has done so well. If this is the case, why not do right by JAD by trading him to a team where him getting a look is a no brainer

How do they get under cap -- and under roster limit
Well if they can't "conveniently" wait until after the deadline to Eichel back , then maybe they can wait/have to wait to get Pacioretty back. Then trade McNabb and you're within a $500,000 difference which is manageable I'm sure. Then your D pairings could be Theodore-Pietrangelo, Martinez-Coghlan, and Hague-Whitecloud ideally. All in a perfect world of course

fit under the cap
Well you did make the cap work which is the point. My only question is Carrier on the first pairing..... Is this just an oversight or was it intentional? Either way, didn't have to trade Smith or any other expensive player so that objective was successful I'd say

Well now we see that Jones is making it, he's out of debate. I would have been willing to cast him aside of any of them because I think Carlsons offensive prowess and being a veteran would outrank him over Jones at least. Fox is elite and seems to have earned his way onto the roster I imagine so I think McAvoy is probably the 7th defenseman on this roster. My comment about his username was more tongue and cheek if anything but it's a bit on the nose to assume someone with that username would be especially fond of that player but I digress

Probably not as high right now but I believe by the deadline, the team will be improved and will raise his trade value. Peterson will take a lot of games and I think Quick with a lessened work load, improved team, and his competitiveness that can't be overlooked will have other teams looking at him for the playoffs. Especially since he has essentially other than Tim Thomas, the most dominant single playoffs stats in the current era. Will LA trade him though is another story
