Getting Out Of Cap Jail
8th overall picks wont be ready to hang with eichel quite yet, nylander may make the team mittelstadt will still be in college. If this is our team we are not making the playoffs. buying those players out hurts us for twice as long as it would to just have them play there contracts out

Leafs make great trade but piss off fan base
that's not a great trade at all. the reason your fan base would be pissed would be because you gave up your future just to suck again, I hate Toronto I really do but even I would say this is a garbage trade. the list of things Nashville is giving up would have to be much much longer and that's just for Mathews let alone everything else

Duchene trade + opening day lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Colorado would not give up Duchene for what you offered. Kane is a great hockey player, but he is also a troublesome guy and can be a negative influence in the locker room. Seeing as Colorado, for lack of a better word, sucked last season, Kane would not help the team build morale. Secondly, Victor Antipin hasn't proven himself in the league yet and his value at this point would probably be equivalent to a 4th round pick, maybe a 3rd. In order to get Duchene, Buffalo would have to give up a 1st round pick, a player like Reinhart and probably Jake McCabe.</div></div>
no way he is worth rienhart McCabe and a first. the only gm that believes that is sakic and that's why he hasn't been moved. Duchene is a nice player but he isn't worth a top four defenseman and a top 6 forward. and then a first rounder too? I wouldn't give you Rienhart straight up for Duchene

Buffalo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojme</b></div><div>Guhle is untouchable. Nylander might be open for trade I'm not really sure. But sabres are definitely not trading both for two guaranteed years of Duchene</div></div>
idk how "untouchable" he really is, your d are risto (22) McCabe (23) bogo (27) Antipin (24) beaulieu (24) scandella (27) and gorges (100) I don't want to see him traded but its a young core if they play well together and botterill has confidence in this group I wouldn't mind him being packaged to get a top 6 forward, my question is how much better is Duchene than kane? because if you get Duchene you cant afford to pay kane next year and kane is free to resign Duchene costs you essentially kane on top of whatever it takes to trade for him

Duchene to Buffalo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Justforfun</b></div><div>Duchene is not worth all that. sakic thinking he is is kinda why he's still an av in the first place, botterill laughs and hangs up the phone</div></div>
maybe we can offer you guys a pair of disappointing prospects and you can let one walk and not sign the other for Duchene?.... that was good enough for O'reilly, sakic would have to get rid of reinhart and McCabe when there contracts ended because he doesn't want to pay anyone anyway, so does it really matter what you receive? just ask for a 1st round pick that way you can afford that prospect for 3 years... just don't draft out of college because college players are smart and will walk when they can.

Stafford and a waiver wire 4C
some insight as a sabres fan, we had a line of foligno-ennis-Stafford and they actually played really well together, if they could rekindle that it would be a very solid 3rd line and could free up coyle to play in the top 6. but I honestly don't know enough about coyle Im just throwing that out there. Ennis also has the upside to play in the top 6 if he is in fact back to form, but again there is chemistry there

IMO I'd gave him a 5 yr / 4.5m</div></div>
its absolutely great for De Haan
if Tavares doesn't stay then I'd agree he might bounce but I don't think his angle is to leave I think its just to get the funds snow wasn't going to give him. so he settled.

Moving Gorges. Letting the young guns play.
first off Ottawa is looking pretty good too, I don't see in any way how josefson and Griffith are better than pouliot and moulson. rienhart is much better than pominville at this point in their careers and nylander is not ready to be in the line-up yet. plus Larson has out played girgensons since he got here so he'd be my 3c

as a sabres fan I will say foligno is a very sold bottom 6 forward that wont cost much and wont look out of place playing up in the top 6 due to injury, it wont take you long to change your mind once you actually see him play, he isn't a bum he has skill I think with your team he gets you 15-18 goals and he hits everything that moves which is a plus out west
