I would love to get Yanni Gourde but don’t think Seattle trades him + they probably won’t retain money + that offer feels a little light.

Possible Pasta Dishes
As much as I’d love to watch Pasta and Bread on the same line the only way to make it work for the Rangers is if Boston retained 50% so it’s probably unlikely. And our best package would be something like Kakko+ one of Lundkvist or Jones + 2023 1st

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dekes</b></div><div>fair enough, i was kinda iffy about adding it because NYR in that weird spot where they are very competitive but also have a long of young players so i was unsure if they would want to loose out on youth in hope that these acquistions would give them high odds for the next few years to win the cup</div></div>
Yeah as far as the players involved K’Andre is probably getting very close to that untouchable category for the Rangers(if he’s not already there) and Chytil and Kakko are starting to show some promise but the idea of putting Pasta on a line with Bread is so intriguing. Biggest problem with NYR for this scenario would be making it work with their cap crunch is why they’d have to probably decline

Fending off an Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>If they can add a C who slots in bottom 6 right now, and projects as a possible 2C...I'm all for it. But GM's usually hold these guys near and dear (like LA with all their Cs). And there just might be an organizational fit...regardless of what I put together here involving Lindgren, 3LD is open next year. Is Zac Jones the guy? maybe. But Lundqvist had (and prob still has) a higher ceiling. Carrying both is probably advisable- especially for injury depth. And at some point- 2 years down the line they probably will look to move Trouba.</div></div>
C is gonna be the big question all offseason. Can Nils play the left side? If so I’d probably rather him than Jones(who I also like) because like you said the ceiling is higher. Where does Matt Robertson factor into all of this? Who knows maybe Gallant prefers a bigger body defenseman on that 3rd pair to match with Schneider for the time being. Agreed on Trouba he kinda has to be traded in 2 years when he loses the NMC in order to pay all the kids.

Got played by MTL both times- now Aho can walk into UFA at age 27 with only two more years left on his deal. I think a Kakko offer sheet would be beneficial for the kid. He gets no PP time and is a really really good defensive winger.</div></div>
I like Kakko hoping NYR can get a bridge deal done with him this summer, but to the point about no PP time it’s gonna be tough to get time on PP1 when you’re on the same team as Panarin Kreider and Zibanejad

Fending off an Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>Not dismissing your idea of handling next year's CAP crunch...I just don't like the idea of losing Copp and I'm still not convinced Chytl is ready for 2C. They gave big assets to get Copp here and he has been the perfect fit. As long as they can extend him for 5.75M per (or cheaper) they need to keep him. And the Kid line- staying together as a unit for 3rd line matchups is key to them continuing development. Also, you solve the 3C dilemma by moving Lundqvist for Dellandrea. At face value I guess the values are on par...but I don't think Dellandrea has shown a lot in DAL. And while Lunkqvist did struggle last year, I think what he really needs is opportunity- which comes if there is an opening. Arguments can be made that right now Nils is the 2nd or 3rd best D man in the organization. Given the opportunity, I think he can prove that- and sky is still the limit for him.</div></div>
There really is no way to keep Copp and the kid line if Kakko gets offer sheeted(which I think is unlikely anyway). As for Lundkvist I agree he shouldn’t be judged off 25 games, but I also think he doesn’t really have a clear organizational fit here and they might look to move him to improve depth at another position like C.

Tbf KK was a retaliatory offer sheet, nobody is really looking to retaliate against the Rangers. Besides maybe Montreal with Gorton there now

The biggest thing you're banking on is Playoff Chytil becoming Everyday Chytil, but it's not the worse gamble to take when you're talking about a 22-year-old.</div></div>
Yeah I mean I honestly don’t think the roster looks like this just made it to show how a Kakko offer sheet is worked around. Completely agree on the Vatrano>Kravtsov point. As for the 3rd pair I have full confidence in Schneider and really like Jones but I think the team might want someone with a little more size, wouldn’t be shocked if they made an attempt to re-sign Braun.

Fending off an Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>The RW position obviously has a bit to be desired...trying to keep the Kid line together...and 1st line Blais? coming back from ACL injury? lot to ask there. Maybe Krav is an option. Maybe Copp stays at RW. I guess what I'm saying is a lot of unknowns- and reality will most likely bring about decisions not shown here. So I wouldn't get too hung up on where Gaut is placed. He's just a cheap NHLer here filling out a roster spot...where exactly he'd play is TBD.
As far as losing Lindgren- again...need to come up with the additional CAP in the unlikely scenario Kakko is offer sheeted. I want to keep Lindgren! Any better suggestions?</div></div>
1) It’s gonna be nearly impossible to keep the kid line together next year because of the cap crunch.
2) Kakko probably isn’t gonna get offer sheeted, but even if he did you don’t move Lindgren the decision becomes to you prioritize keeping all the kids or do you try to win now(re-sign Copp and trade Chytil). If your priority is keeping all the kids it’s fairly easy even with a Kakko offer sheet https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3310530

Blais is getting the 1.6 million qualifying offer next year and then getting replaced by Cuylle/Othmann in 2023-24, nobody wants to keep Strome, we’d probably have to let Copp walk but I think NYR would rather take their chances with Chytil as 2C than lose their 2OA pick for nothing, Georgiev is not in our long term plans anyway we’ll sign a cheap 1 million dollar backup. Next summer when Laf K’Andre and Chytil all need new deals will be difficult but the key will be to bridge them until 2024 offseason when Trouba and Kreider NMCs expire.

Gamble
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mvp13</b></div><div>You can definitely move Panarin and Laffy around, and in general a lot of parts on this roster. I kept it this way because I think playing with Panarin can help continue Chytil's momentum, and I think it's in NYR's best interest to keep the two headed monster of Zibanejad and Panarin separate. Regardless, having a lot of different combos that can make sense I think is a big benefit of this roster over signing one of Copp and Strome, where the roster likely won't be as deep. I think anyone in the top 9 on this roster can play on any one of the lines fairly comfortably, maybe with the exception of Goodrow
I don't know, I have to believe that Drury signed Goodrow to that contract with the intention of him being the 3C. That's a lot of money for a 4C player. Maybe they can get another rental or something at the deadline if they really feel they have to. I'd absolutely love Yanni Gourde, but SEA would have to retain 50% for it to work for NYR, and it'd likely mean losing someone in the top 9 anyway (at least after this year). Ultimately this is definitely a big gamble as you are putting all your eggs in Chytil being a 2C, as there's nobody else on the roster to fill that void if he struggles. It's probably why it won't happen, but still fun to look at it</div></div>
Ultimately I do think they just re-sign Copp, but of the 3 of Copp Strome and Vatrano I really do think Vatrano has been the most noticeable lately. However our lack of depth at C makes it that much more important to lock in Copp/Strome or trade for a 2C. As for Goodrow I think he was signed to play really anywhere in the middle 6 because of his versatility but he might have to be 3C next year out of necessity, I don’t really think they view him as a 4C next year just think he’s playing there in these playoffs because we’re pretty much fully healthy.

Gamble
A few thoughts
1)Vatrano has been buzzing lately, I know C depth is an issue for us but between Vatrano Copp and Strome I think Frankie has made the best case to be re-signed
2)my only problem with this roster is if we’re promoting the kid line I kinda want them to stay together. They all seem to play better when on the same line. Can Panarin move up to the Zibanejad line and maybe force Kreider to RW.
3)I’ve thought since we have a lot of guys who really don’t have a spot here(Nils,Kravtsov, etc.) could we possibly look to trade for someone like Gourde or Dvorak with money retained who are more suited to be 3C but are good enough to move up to 2C if Chytil struggles.
Overall like the idea of this AGM tho good job

IF Larkin wants out
As much as I’d love Larkin on the Rangers don’t think it makes much sense. I think Rangers best offer would probably be something like one of Chytil/Kakko + Nils + 2023 1st and maybe we throw in someone like Kravtsov if Detroit has any interest in him. And even if Detroit accepted that offer it’d pretty tough for NYR to fit a Larkin extension in to their cap equation(unless you add Trouba into a Larkin trade and he waives his NMC)
