I can see getting Hallander and a 2nd to take on bad contracts/LTIR... but why are they giving up Pageau to do it?

BUF would probably take a 3rd but you'd have to bury the Brodziak contract
Pitt would trade Rust if it involved Matt Benning assuming they could move Guddy out

what is the limit of games played in a season to count as a season played? is it 12?
he had those 9 games in the first year but I don't think they count as a season so he's on played two pro season right?

Sabres
First trade not sure they is a roaster spot for Scandella, maybe with an injury in the season though that trade works.
the CGY trade doesn't make any sense Sobotka has little to no value whereas Folik could be flipped for a decent pick with cap retained so GGY could still save a couple of mill in cap and get a better return.
Min would take that I'm sure but would BUF offer it seen a lot of your fans have the crazy high valuations on Risto?
He's under contract for a few years, with a sizable cap it so that limits his trade options but he's a decent offensive guy who can quarterback the PP. I think Philly could be a good fit for him tbh but we'll have to see.

Agreed, I think though that LA will hang onto Toffoli till the deadline and trade him with 50% cap retained probably returning a 1st and a top prospect maybe few other pieces too.

This is why people hate pens fans...
Why would BUF a team 1 mil over cap trade to take on an additional 2mil in cap, and for the return of a top 6 winger when they desperately need a 2nd line center?
Also if LA are tanking again this year and going into a rebuild they'll flip Toffrolli at the deadline with cap retained for a king's ransom probably a 1st and a prospect any contender would kill for a winger like him on 2.3 mil cap hit.

Pens don't want a couple of AHL contracts.
The 4th and 6th you had would get it done (possibly just the 4th), think the pens want a 3rd but given he'll have to go through waives that isn't happening.
He's got some upside but yet to prove himself and Pens wouldn't trade a proven DeSmith to give him a shot at backup.

Ovi scored more... alot more 163
Stamkos scored more 119
Matthews scored more 111
Only reason Crosby and McDavid didn't outscore him was injuries.

BUF isn't really in a position to absorb Cap, are they looking for a Center? for example, could a trade involving Bjugstad and McCabe be worked out?
I love the idea of having McCabe and Schultz on a line.

Thoughts
From a Penguins point of view, I love this.
(Jake aside) the wingers might be shuffled around in the top 6.
Simon and Horny on the wings of Carter would be incredible, their high Puck Position stats would give Jeff every chance of putting up 25+ goals again.
4th line Gritty and hard to play against.
McCabe is a massive upgrade on JJ and $2.4 seems like a reasonable value for bringing Pettersson back.
Buf trade I think is possible. heard they're in the market for a Center so Bjugstad fits the bill, picks might need adjusting but in principle think the trade could be worked out.
LA trade... the cap retention on the longer JJ contract makes it easier to take for LA but I'm not sure they'd be willing to take him back even with the lack of LD they have. I think a top prospect (which the pens don't have many of) may be required to make that work maybe JPO or Hallander, I'd like to keep both given the lack of prospects. even with an included prospect, I'd be tempted to gamble on the trade.
would be keen to hear what LA and Buf fans think of the trades.

Agree, the value isn't too far off but Cap is such a premium this season. also, GMJR loves having Left-handed D on the Left and Right on the right.
if they is a trade out there I see it being Schultz and JJ together for a two-way RD d-Man and they sign Jake Gardiner. Only say this as I've heard rumours JG has a deal in place to a team with no cap and it's confirmed Pens when in on him. they couldn't fit him on the team without moving Schultz. With Schultz in the last year of his contract and likely gone in the FA, the move isn't out of the question.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drewjenks</b></div><div>He's more talented than Panarin 100%</div></div>
Interestingly he's a big reason why Panarin ended up in CBJ.
He was a major piece in the deal that brought Saad to CBJ after an amazing rookie year. Saad was traded for Panarin in roughly a 1-1 deal.
So it was Dano and Anisimov that resulted in Panarin, not a bad series of trades CBJ

not a bad shout, hopefully Sully leaves the lines together for more than a few games this season. so many guys who can play in the top six so I think we'll see a lot of shuffling for the first half of the season.

yes and no, they had in the playoffs they had incredible puck possession stats and outshot the Islands but they where outscored massively, could have been puck luck but maybe the line needs a pure scorer.
