Some depth options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MadLin27</b></div><div>Voit is a winger, but fair..
Maybe Holmberg could be moved instead.
You'd have to adjust the picks though as Holbergs value is much greater than Voit</div></div>
The Leafs may project Voit as a winger, but he's a natural C and has played C at least as often as wing thus far. Either way, he's a reeeeeally small guy who doesn;t skate as well as he needs to.
And yeah, Holmberg would get you more than Voit with the Blues, but these picks are already light because the 2nd is pushed to 24. Maybe both 23 3rds and Holmgren does the trick, though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boldirev</b></div><div>Yes. An expiring 3.5 M contract is not a plus for Vancouver. So a third for Schenn and then at least a second to take on Kerfoot. Canucks are not trading a 4th to take on another useless contract unless something they really want/need is coming back.</div></div>
It's not a 2nd to move on from Kerfoot. It's probably Kerfoot for like a 5th or 6th round pick at minimum and Schenn will prob. get a 3rd or 4rth

Re-signning Bunting Kampf Holmberg and Samsonov
1. think are very heavy on the Holmberg contract. Yes he has been great, but paying him $2 million a year for 11 minutes a game is not exactly sound fiscal management. $1.25 million tops. Let's see how he gets better in 2 years.
2. Why would you even sign Ellers when Holmberg has 100% proven his spot on the 4th line? If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
2. No way in hell is Voit ready. Steeves conversely IS.
3. The Kämpf contract I think is bang on.
4. Like Holmberg, you are overpaying Acciari. Love his game, but not $2 million worth. Maybe $1.5 million..... because unlike Holmberg, he has more experience.
5. SDA is waiver exempt, so a complete waste of a roster spot having him on the team. Given the Leafs organization blueline depth, WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY better option to sign a 7th D. Or trade Roberston for one since, ya know, you Robias Islanded the guy.
For me, this is a mess.

meier to VGK long-term
Last I saw, it was actually going up $4 million (https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-salary-cap-could-increase-by-at-least-4-million-in-2023-24/c-336522332) - obviously, this is out of the question if it only goes up $1 million unless we dump Marchy/Smith/Karlsson/Lehner - which, honestly, would be pretty classic VGK.

Leafs add in another puck moving defensemen that doesn't defend and can't play physical (Tyson Barrie). Embarrassing trade from Dubas' end especially after losing guys like Kadri, Mason Marchment, and Hyman
My vote goes to Arizona</div></div>
this is some Hockey DB scouting if I've ever seen it

Hawks would never make that trade. They are embracing a full rebuild and are not trading prospects or picks for players that won't be around when they are competitive again.

This was a massive fleece IMO. CGY just extended their window for at least another 5 years.</div></div>
It'll look different when the players are in the back half of their deals, but The Flames could easily win a cup in the meantime.

(yes, its a trend...)
ACGMers are saying $9.25m for DeBrincat.
ACGMers are saying $10m+ for Pastrnak.</div></div>
Robertson signed for 4 years though not 8 years. If it was 8 years he'd be getting 8.5M-9M.
I also don't remember anyone saying 10M+ for Laine lol

New York Islanders signed Mathew Barzal (8 Years / $9,150,000 AAV)
If he gets more offensive freedom under Lambert this could be a very, very good value contract when the cap jumps.
However, it's a bit rich if that's not the case. He was like the fourth best Islanders player last year behind Sorokin, Pelech and Nelson. Could add Dobson as well.
