Only trade that makes sense with PIT
Brassard gives them a C while they wait for Kotkaniemi and Poehling (probably ready next year), they can flip
Him at the deadline for assets. Maata solves the LD with Weber and they get a high second round pick as extra.

SMART Realistic MOVES
So Duclair who was a third round pick himself and is now on his third team because hes underperforming is now worth a 2nd round pick?
Habs - Oilers trade is more realistic

Yea MTL definetly would not add, Strome is unproven and thats what it cost to get a guy like Zadina at 3. Montreal would be giving the two best assets of the trade if they added Galchenyuk.

Pacioretty
You can take away Lehkonen if Paches resigns prior to the trade, that second is still a decent mid round pick and Pacioretty on a team with a real C would most likely reach the 40 goal plateau.
Paches + 2nd for Steel and a first
Or
Paches + Lehkonen for Steel + 1st + prospect/pick

Rebuilds dont take as long as they used to nowadays. Theyre getting a 30 goal winger and a pick in the top 40 on top of the other 2 firsts they have. I think New York would think about it at the very least

Oilers get a scoring winger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Truebeliever</b></div><div>Montreality25 needs to realize that Max's value is EITHER Nurse or the #10 overall pick -- not both. That said, Max is anything but heartless/gutless. He's quiet, for sure, but he shows up. I don't know Eberle or why the Oilers gave up on Hall, but clearly none of RNH, Strome, Lucic or Maroon did the trick on McDavid's wing. Pacioretty is made for that job. He's a big target in the high slot with a great release. They'd be lethal together.</div></div>
Thats why the trade isn’t just Max.... that 2nd is almost like a late first and you have Benn. The value isn’t that far off and Pacioretty scored those 4 back to back 30+ goal seasons (3 of those were 35+) with a team that has no real C. He can help solidy the LW and bring some scoring to the Oilers. Someone will pay that Price.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>so we got three third line centes and no top 6 again for another decade huh
its Statsny or RNH there is no version of this team where 2 players with identical role's will thrive here .
it didnt even work with Gionta and Gomez who had won cups together because you cant have 2 players running the same role its just redundant .
personally i like RNH deal and drafting Tkchuck but that being said Tkchuck is at the same point in developement as Poehling playing his first year in transition to center and we cant Mccarron this one up by trying to rush his development to fill our needs or else we'll bust another 4 first rounders in the next 10 years .
the Shaw deal is horrible and an automatic -1
you made our team a lot older and still didnt get a top line center but i cant take away points for that sadly.
i'm giving you 3/5 based on the Statsny and Shaw deals just being irreedemably bad.</div></div>

Made our team much older? What?
Drouin, Galchenyuk, Tkachuk, Evans, Hudon, Lehkonen, RNH, Danault, Mete, Reilly, Juulsen, DLR, Scherbak are all 24 and under. This team is much younger. Only player older player i added was Stastny who’s 32 and after being a top line C for the Blues for a couple seasons and the rumors of him signing with MTL this summer its only fitting that he takes the 2C position while Poehling takes another year to get ready.
Shaw deal is fair if you look at the concussions, injuries and bad penalties he takes. Bottom 6 is crowded anyways and Deslauriers can take over as enforcer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Starsfan98</b></div><div>I don't believe that FLA would give out a lottery pick AND a great prospect. That's just too much.</div></div>
Theyre getting a top five goal scorer in the league in the last 5 years on a golden contract. Still young and whos scored goals on a regular basis while never having a true number 1. They still have Borgstrom, Owen Tippett coming up. This would be a move to win now, and FLA should be in that mode. Heponiemi is a great second round pick who isn’t proven in the NHL, Florida’s pick is probably gonna 10th or 11th and Bjugstad has been in and out of IR for the past couple of years. This offer works for both teams.

You do know that some players take longer to develop than others right? Pacioretty at the same age as Bennett had 14 pts in 52 games. Valimaki has been putting up a point per game in the WHL. I even think that the first in 2019 is too much. Don’t be so quick to judge a player, same goea for Blake Wheeler, took a while becore he found his game

Habs say yes to every single one of these except the Avs one. OTT’s first round pick is conditionnal. Isles trade is the best one imo, Arz declines eventhough their first could very well end up being 4th overall.

Lets get it done
No chance Habs do any of those deals. Galchenyuk is still yound and has top line potential, even with a down year hes got 10 pts in his last 10 games. Juulsen has top 4 potential and Brodie isnt even wrth Chucky 1v1. The second deal is just ridiculous, with the bad prospect pool
habs have theres no chance in hell Bergevin gives us his two first round picks for Duchene would who hasnt done anything since Dorion made a similar trade a couple months back. Youll never see a team trade 2 first rounders for an average player, especially in the next drafts who are suposed to be extremely deep.
