NJ's cap is expendable now and might not be in 2 years. SJS thinks they are still competitive. Really the move just spreads apart the AAV of the contracts to make Jones more balanced and Schneider front heavy</div></div>
yeah i undestand but if they keep 1.5 and you keep just .75 they will paid 6.5M the first 2 years and 5 million 2 other so they will totally paid 23 million ( whats jones will cost you for 4 years ) so nothing better, nothing worst. i dont think this is better for them? ( sorry for my english my first langue is french and i cant really read what i juste whrote..)

Backstrom
probably not. Backstrom is one oh those players who get paid very less than their value. Capitals gave 8 years contract 5.75M a year to oshie who is not the same range of player so why give him less? It will be his last "big contract " and he wil' want money. they have his stanley cup with you, did 900 point in 924 games, 106 points in 123 playoff game and good wherever you wanted he was. He deserve a bigger co tract than 5 years 6 million

no men... never change a 1rst for the next year amd suzuki on a 4... its very bad. the player show that he can play in all situation against ( not everyone but...) a lot of player. thats no with to put him in a position that hewill play 10-11 minute max per game... other trades are note bad but useless if we sign romanov.

I dont think, like other, he will does 50 goal per year and a 100 point. but im sure he will be important part for the canadien. not necessary his first years. he will needs maybe an other years in ncaa and 2-3 years in nhl to become which kind of player he can becomes but im sure its not to much saying that he have a 40 goals 70-80 point season in his full potential.

Primeau right now would be the hardest to let go imo.</div></div>
I 100% agree with you that mtl do not have a franchise player but look edmonton. they have mcdavid ans they are not close to think about a stanley cup. You need a team to win. penguins without fleury malkin and guentzel? washington without holtby bakstrom and carlson? Blues? boston? they all have a complet team. Send futur offensive top 6 def top 4 and good goalie will not bring cup back
