San Jose doesn’t consider that to be close. If Timo is traded it’s for futures not another bad contract, no prospect and no 1st.

Erik Karlsson at a 5.75 cap hit would be the best contract in the league. This is top 3 worst proposals i've seen.
Add every first rounder until 2050 and maybe you have a deal.

:laugh Sharks aren't eating nearly $29,000,000 on Erik Karlsson especially for Barrie and Bouchard alone. Get real Barrie is a cap dump and Bouchard alone doesn't get anywhere close to that kind of retaining on Karlsson.

Dont care about the future
If K'Andre Miller cost only a future second and two prospects, he'd have a quarter of the season in a Kings sweater under his belt already. But I understand the spirit of this ACGM and your hope that he could be in San Jose. :)
Afterthought: By the way, be careful about RFAs. Because Miller is about to turn 23, I think that a four-year re-signing would take him to unrestricted free agency, because he'd have turned 27 before the end of his last season and he'd have 7 years in the NHL.

You might be able to find a taker for Lablanc, but it ain't CHI. You are probably better off holding onto him and seeing if he can stay healthy and raise his value.

Interesting defensive pairings. I suspect it's also arguably the most realistic of what we can expect from the coaching staff to put together with Knyzhov out. I'd say what you have here is most realistic.
I'm really hoping that Merkley comes out in camp and demands a roster spot with improved play and a stronger/bigger body.

Sharks Rebuild
to start at the Draft we go D because that's the weak spot in our prospect depth, either Mintuko or Korchinski if they fall.
Simek will be dealt he wants out of San Jose and is unhappy, Labanc will be dangled for a bag of pucks and a Horton's coffee.
Balcers, Nieto, Bonino, and Dahlen are interchangeable and we have too many players/ prospects similar them anyways, I would assume maybe 2 or 3 get traded to free up cap space. Balcers and Dahlen seem most likely as they have the highest value due to upside and youth.
Hill or Reimer get moved, Hill for a 4th/3rd or Reimer for a 2nd plus a prospect seems reasonable.
Burns or Karlsson one of those two most likely get moved and our interim GM already stated they are available and they are listening to offers.
That leaves our needs at a top 6RW goal scorer for Eklund & Couture.
Skilled big winger to protect Bordeleau and for him to feed the puck to.
top 4 LD (unless Knyzhov is really recovered from injury and NHL ready again, though a 1 year rental as insurance wouldn't hurt)
top 4 RD (to replace Burns or Karlsson once/if one is dealt)
But our Biggest need is for Vlasic to get his head out of his rectum and realize he is still a highly paid hockey player and not a spectator and get to work.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DeadWingsv2</b></div><div>I don't understand this mentality that because the Wings haven't been good, that adding players that aren't good is ok? The whole point of the the rebuild is to add better players, to become a contender again, not tread water with more tweeners and bad players.
Neither of those players help us move forward, so they have no value to us.</div></div>
You guys do realize that you can advocate for DET to pass without being facetiously condescending about the said player you're passing on, right? Baclers is not a "tweener", "bad player", "a dime a dozen", or simply a "guy claimed off waivers". Barabanov was a guy SJ claimed off waivers as well, and he was easily worth two 2nds at the past trade deadline and just earned a very lowball 2.5aav contract (most were expecting 3-4mil).
Similarly, Balcers has a great deal of value. He has very good advanced analytics, is an RFA at the end of next season so you have control over his rights, and his cap hit for next year is only 1.55mil -- that's great value to many teams around the league. He's worth a 2nd rounder. Sure, he had a down year last year points-wise (unlucky and injuries coupled with being on a bad SJ team), and that's fine if DET passes on him, just stop trying to pass him off as a nobody when that's just not true.

Pretty gross mischaracterization of Balcers, but okay.
Just because Ottawa is run by idiots and kept really bad veteran players on their opening night roster over Balcers doesn't mean he's bad. Sharks drafted him originally and included him in the Karlsson trade so jumped at the opportunity to get him back. Been a nice 2 way 3rd line winger making minimal money with team control. Sharks would be attaching him as a sweetener to get Simek's money off the books.

I think you have a Fair assessment, but word out in the rumor mills is we are looking to deal Burns or Karlsson in the off-season.
Articles were saying we had preliminary talks with a few teams on Karlsson at the TDL, and Burns kind of hinted that he would consider a deal to chase a cup.
Simek should be 100% gone this off season, he is mad at the sharks and has accused them of lying to him so bringing him back is a bad idea.
I would look to deal him Balcers and/ Or Nieto. Nieto and or Balcers because we have 4-5 players who could easily replicate their production both defensivly and offensively in Gregor, leonard, Chmevelski, Raska & Weatherby Etc. and a few who have potential to far eclipse them offensively in Dahlen, Gushin Robbins Coe & Weisblatt.

SJ Realistic Prudent Offseason Sign Marchment Ship Out Hill Simek Buy Out Labanc

I know they named him Team RotY but at the same time his play really fell off the 2nd half of the season (not entirely his fault, coaching obv a big reason in that too, but he's still a question mark himself at the end of the day too) and he hasn't really been vouched for by other coaches/players for whatever that's worth. With the season the Sharks had I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they ship him for a 2nd/3rd just as they parted ways with Donato last year after they brought him in expecting him to solidify a spot in the top-6 and he failed to do so. Similar thing happened with IMO, though not as bad. I think the Sharks will ofc be looking to make roster changes, so who's left out? Gregor/Balcers/Nieto, even Bonino, all have been making strong arguments to stay in the lineup for next year. I'm not sure Dahlen's done enough. Don't think that he's the bane of the team and needs to be shipped at all, he's just a question mark to me is all, and one that I could easily see SJ parting with. I was definitely on team ShipOutDonato at the end of last season, I'm definitely not on that team with Dahlen though.
In any case, I could easily see SJ giving him 1 more year to prove it on a 1 year deal. Updated this roster to have that reflected.</div></div>
i like the roster you’ve put together, i fully agree with your assessment of Dahlen, my one reason to not trade him is the first half of the season, he was on fire right up until he jacked up his shoulder since that game he hasn’t been the same player. i feel an offseason to heal and bulk up a bit he might return to that first half form where he was looking like a 20-25 G 45-50 point player. Marchment is probably not as good as his stats in from this year but his underlying metrics are better than his linemates and you can’t teach 6’4” 205 lbs lol. he would be a great addition to add some grit and muscle, my only worry is his addition blocks Coe next year who I am very high on. and that’s a smallish and weak 4th line, i’d like our 4th better with Raska Reedy and Weatherby. size grit checking & tenacity with a little offence sprinkled in but it’s hard to move Bonino and his D plus 15 goals from a bottom 6 guy is crazy to want to move.

i would love Forsberg but to me if we pick him up it means the end of Meier with the sharks.
Ferraro will be more like 3.5-3.75
if we pick Forsberg up I say trade Meier to a team like NJD or whoever for 23 1st, 22 2nd, and a top prospect. if it’s NJD i like Holtz.
then go afte Marchment.
Hertl with Barabanov Forsberg
Couture Marchment and Eklund
Balcers Bordeleau Reedy
Nieto Bonino Veronneau
that would bump us to about 18-14 offensive and would put us in the playoffs

I feel like Couture would be a elite 3C or a solid top 6 wing on a contending team. I don't see Bords being ready for top 9 center duty, yet, and 3C is just too much for Bonino. Ideally we'd get at least a solid 3C on a short term contract and an elite power forward to replace Kane. Would be awesome if we at least won the consolation lotto and drafted Slaf 2nd overall. He'd be perfect for the Shark's future.
