Can't see Panarin not signing back in Columbus. Berglund isn't worth a 5th round pick IMO. Your overvaluing O'Reilly. Parayko is the future of the Blues, and trading him for a cancer is not very smart.

Thornton wants to stay in San Jose, that is fact. Your lucky if you get a 7th for Hunwick. If Montreal is going to trade Pacioretty to Pittsburgh, they are going to want younger players. Something like Sprong, and a 1st makes sense to me. The Buffalo trade is atrocious, McCabe is part of Buffalo's future. Hagelin is a garbage, and is a cap dump. Basically your trading part of the future for a 4th round pick. No thanks!

I would say Johnson is further down the line. I think Killorn's contract is one that really needs to be moved. The next one I think would be Callahan. After those are moved, I still can't see Johnson being traded. If he is, a good package that helps the Lightning would be coming back. A better backup comes to mind... Carter Hutton, please?

Sens and Avs fans, would you do it?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rtapp326</b></div><div>I like that a lot. To play devils advocate though, here's a couple potential snags that I see:
1. Is Ottawa willing to commit to a rebuild? The return they're getting is all futures. Bracco and Liljegren could be in the NHL soon, but they don't have any NHL experience. Will Dorion bite the bullet and scrap this version of the sens or is he going to be focused on saving his own job and keeping the team competitive.
2. As a young team that's still building and adding young assets, the Avs may be a little reluctant to move two top-50 picks in addition to Tyson Barrie. I think the value of it is fine, but immediately Sakic loses his surplus of draft picks over the next two years.
3. IMO, I don't think Barrie is the defenseman Toronto needs. I think they like him, and they would be happy to add him to their team, but if I were the GM there, I'm making a big push for John Carlson, or I'm going after a guy like Chris Tanev who can provide solid defensive play and stability, and may not cost me quite as much to trade for him.</div></div>
I agree, Barrie is a great defenseman, but Toronto is making a push to sign Carlson. If they aren't able to get him, I can really see this trade happening. Toronto is a contender, and get a solid defenseman on the blue line. A pairing of Morgan Rielly and Tyson Barrie/John Carlson sounds deadly. Something that I, as a Tampa Bay fan would not like to see. I don't think Karlsson gets traded to Colorado based on their current situation, don't forget Karlsson has a NTC. I love this trade for Ottawa. Being in a rebuild state and getting an A level prospect, especially a RHD in Liljegren. I don't know much about Bracco, but 32 points in 50 games in the AHL sounds like a bang or bust, especially where he's 21. The 2 1st's could also be huge busts, or the next Wayne Gretzky. I'd love to see this happen. I like Tanev, but he's too injury prone. Plus I believe that Barrie will be more of an impact player than Tanev on the top pairing in Toronto.

I can't see Tampa Bay wanting Kylington. Tampa Bay is in a championship window, and Johnson is huge to their success. I'm not sold on Bennett, and as a Tampa Bay fan, I don't like trading out Tyler for Bennett.

I believe that in a setting like Colorado, Carlo will thrive, he can play on a pair with Barrie even though he would be on his off side most likely. I like Carlo because of his size and physicality, something Colorado could really use to protect their quality players such as MacKinnon, Rantanen, etc.

The series was called equally. I don't get all this "Tampa had the refs" crap. Both teams had dirty hits and plays, but in the end, if Boston wants to win the series next time, they have to deal with it and play how the refs are calling the games. Also the Miller hit on Backes was clean. Like it was said above, the initial point of contact is the shoulder, then the heads collided with eachother, nothing wrong with it. The hit on Krejci was the same, the shoulder was the initial point of contact. I don't get how Paquette is a dirtbag, he had some hits that may have gotten called, but there was no play from Paquette that I saw, that gives him the dirtbag title.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>Idk really. Kerfoot for Carlo won't happen. Carlo didn't exactly progress in year 2 as much as he should. He's young but has no offensive ability and Kerfoot is going to be a stud. Add a pick maybe Colorado would think of it. Honestly right now with injury and slowing of production and a 7 million dollar contract krejci looks more of a cap dump than a productive piece. Yeah I like heinen but not enough to get hanifin from them. Boston has a ton of great pieces I just don't know how they exactly fit together.</div></div>
I think Colorado would make this deal, they really want a young defenseman, and Carlo fits the bill. Kerfoot is going to be a star, but Colorado needs Carlo more than Kerfoot right now.

Buffalo would be making a huge mistake trading Risto for Poolparty. Risto is the anchor on the blueline for Buffalo plus hes a RHD, something that's a difficult thing to come by.

Great signing. Francouz has been rock solid in the KHL, and can put Varlamov on the trade block. If this signing pans out, he could be getting a 4-5 year deal to be the main man in Colorado. Just wish Tampa Bay signed him to be a great backup for Vasilevskiy...

Draft Day Shenanigans
Tampa Bay is not looking to get younger. They are looking to win and trading a core player for a prospect that isn't NHL ready is a bad idea. Maybe if they were getting a replacement for say Coburn or Girardi in the deal. A backup goalie that's better than Domingue would be nice too.

Get Veleno *IMPROVED*
I have mixed thoughts on Veleno. In the QMJHL he has a career 162 points in 171 games (0.95 PPG). At the WJC he had 3 points in 4 games (0.75 PPG). This year in the QMJHL he had 48 points in 33 games (1.45 PPG). If Montreal wants him so badly, they have the pick, and they can get him at 3.

Trading the #1
Dahlin isn't getting traded. He is what Buffalo needs right now.
Ottawa trade - Nylander is a top notch prospect that Buffalo needs to keep. Karlsson isn't looking to be a part of a rebuild, he wants to win, and he wants to win now.
Anaheim trade - Rakell is Anaheim's near future replacement for Getzlaf.
Boston trade - Your nuts if you think you can get all of that for Dahlin.
Carolina trade - Hanifin is the future of Carolina. They don't need Dahlin.
Dallas trade - Heiskanen isn't getting moved, Dallas picked him, and they are going to stick with him.
Florida trade - What are you thinking? Borgstrom is not getting traded.
Nashville trade - Saros is the future starter in Nashville, Nashville doesn't need Dahlin.
Islanders trade - I'm not sold on Dal Colle, he's already 21 and hasn't recorded his first point.
Tampa Bay trade - WHAT? POINT, SERGACHEV AND CIRELLI?
Toronto trade - Marner getting moved within the division? No thanks.
Vancouver trade - Demko is the future starter for Vancouver, not getting moved.
Overall, you are REALLY over valuing the 1st overall pick.

Trading all the way down.
I can't see Buffalo trading away Dahlin. Dahlin is exactly what Buffalo has been looking for for years, an outstanding offensive force on the blueline. O'Reilly I can see being traded, but most likely not at the draft. Buffalo will hold on to him for as long as they can, and find a good deal that they are comfortable in doing at the deadline. I'm not sold on Mete, he hasn't shown much as of right now, but Lehkonen isn't needed, Buffalo has a pretty solid top 9, and Lehkonen would add to the log jam. The same goes for Dal Colle, he has no points in 4 career NHL games. If he were to make the team, I could see him having a 4th line job at first and moving up if he proves himself. I also can't see Buffalo signing Brock Nelson as Buffalo has a log jam up front. Lehner is the goalie Buffalo needs to be a temporary band-aid until Luukonen develops into an NHL level starter. As for the Detroit trade, I can't see Svechnikov being picked after Zadina. Svechnikov is able to make an immediate impact for whoever picks him, but Zadina might need a year to develop into a full time NHLer.

Boom on our way to contention
Serron Noel isn't making the team. The lines should look like this
Baetrtschi - Horvat - Boeser
Leipsic - Pettersson - Athanasiou
Mascherin - Gaudette - Granlund
Eriksson - Sutter - Virtanen
Edler - Carlson
Gardiner - Green
Juolevi - Stecher
Demko
Markstrom
I feel that Leipsic would be able to make more of an impact than Mascherin. Also, Pettersson would be playing center over Athanasiou. Carlson wouldn't be happy having a 2nd pair job, and would be a top pair guy with Edler. Also, I feel that Demko will be the everyday starter for the Canucks as soon as next year.

No Tavares for ya'll
I think Tavares still might walk. He hasn't said he won't extend his contract with the Isles. Grubauer is a risky move, when he's been a backup his whole career, look at Scott Darling and Antti Raanta, they were traded to be starters. Darling did alright, and Raanta the same. I don't agree with getting Faulk when you already got Brodin. Especially trading away a top notch prospect in Bellows. I don't think Washington would trade their backup's rights for a guy who hasn't seen basically any NHL time and in that time hasn't done well. I also don't think the Islanders are signing another center in Bozak when they keep Tavares and have Barzal.
