I don't think the Leafs can afford to have 14M tied up in Reilly and Parayko for the next 7 years when they both have a NTC. I also dont see why St Louis does this

For some reason when it comes to some of these 2012 men (Dumba, Parayko, Gostisbhere etc) fans on here act like they still have the value they had when they first broke in the league and had all this potential.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>T0R</b></div><div>No offence here so both teams offer both players the same contract that they both accept but they decline it from their original team then sign it after they are tradedt to each others teams. why would they have a hard time if they are offered the same deal they eventually sign for plus Topi looks better then Merkley rn imo</div></div>
I grew up with Merkley, dont want that guy anywhere near Toronto I wouldn't give up anything for him like hes subtraction by addition. Swapping Niemela for him is just dog water. Also the Leafs have been patient with Nylander throughout his whole career, why trade him now that hes finally turned into a borderline star? Nothing against Meier but trading Nylander for him does nothing for Toronto.

I feel like Columbus doesn't do this since Merzlinkins is younger and has shown he can do well in Columbus, also they probably wait and see how well he does behind a better team. Grubauer also probably doesn't waive his NTC to go to Columbus.

LOL Kerfoot is a pending UFA and Puljujarvi under contract the picks would go to Edmonton not Toronto.</div></div>
They’re basically both ufas seeing as how the Oilers or whatever team hes traded too isnt gonna offer him a 3M QO. So how exactly is their value equal when Kerfoot is far better defensively and is doing better offensively when hes in a checking role with David Kampf and Pierre Engvall lol? Puljujarvi is a cap dump at this point, might even have negative value and teams might ask Edmonton for a draft pick to take him on.

The only teams I see being interested in him are Tampa and Washington. Hard to get what you want when you have no leverage as no other playoff teams have a need for him.

I dont think the Panthers wanna help out the Bolts, also based on what Ducks fans say Klingberg is gonna probably cost a 1st on top of all that.

Yeah in a weaker draft and in a year where the top rentals available were Chiarot, Giroux, Leddy, Copp and Rakell. GMs also obsess over guys like Chiarot for some reason. Based on the fact Klingberg had to go to Anaheim on a 1 year deal, its pretty obvious no GM is interested in him.

You have to retain 3.5M because you overpaid the guy by 2M LOL. You think your getting anything for Klingberg without retaining? Seems like Ducks fans though they were getting a free 1st for signing Klingberg and now can't accept the reality that hes just not worth that. If GMs thought he was worth a 1st or a blue chip prospect dont you think he wouldve gotten one of those deals that Reilly, Parayko, Lindholm etc got last year?

Its not 2015 lol, theres a reason he had to sign for 1 year on the Ducks. Klingberg isn't worth more than a 2nd. If thats what it takes to get him I guess the Ducks will be using him as on own rental.
