<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheRiddler</b></div><div>Wow. I fully agree with you. Derek Ryan is also quite a fast player that just fits the system of Housley, plus the money I think will not be so much. Bozak seems to have problems with the defensive game, and Nash will certainly try to knock out a bigger contract after such a good season.</div></div>
The Sabres could overpay Ryan for 2 or 3 years and he would be a useful component..... he 31 years old will be 32 in December if the Sabres throw him $3,000,000 to $3,500,000 for 2 years that works for both parties.

It's okay because no way Buffalo does this deal. ROR>Pacs especially without an extension and Benn has negative value.

Buffalo easily passes. A pending 30 year old UFA, a bust and a late 2nd wont cut it. We will get better offers and dont have to move O'Reilly. Obviously we wont add a conditional pick

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>Stastny is definitely overpaid in this scenario, but for sure I think Bergefail will pursue him and this is how much I think it would take to convince him to sign in MTL. and Congrats on WSH! I personally don't see ROR as a #1 C, imo he's the best #2 C in the game. So anything more than this and it'll border on a ridiculous overpayment. and like I said the 2019 1st is unprotected, and with the direction MTL seems to be heading, that could be a huge return for BUF.</div></div>
Thx, been waiting for so long!!
IMO, people just undervalue ROR too often. That value is quite fair yes, but doesn't make really sense for Buffalo. They would be left with a gaping hole in the middle without any other decent centers other than Eichel.

Well, Statsny is worth half of what you're offering him, clearly you have the Bergevin mentality. And ROR is worth so much more than a mediocre defense prospect. I'm so done woth these ROR trades all over the place. And no, not a Sabres fan, ROR fan.

Habs this next season
You aren’t doing Buffalo any “favor” by taking Oreillys contract. We are in no way a cap crunch for years. Buffalo should be getting more in this deal as we are risking Patches ditching after one year and we’re left with just one winger who hasn’t necessarily figured it out in the nhl yet

Reinhart to Philly
Yeah that feels like trading Reinhart for nothing. (Not for no value but for the sake of trading Reinhart i mean)
I get the idea you are going for but you can resolve those issues in A) Free agency or B) with a less impactful player like Reinhart.
If you really want Macdonald, Im sure Philly will give you him and Weal for free just for a 7th rounder in return. AMac is ridiculously overpaid for what he brings. Weal is a bottom 6 winger. You're not breaking the bank here.

Reinhart to Philly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>those 2 are throw ins I’m going after the pick and prospect. I don’t want the Sabres to go after FAs, theyre just setting themselves up for disaster. Reinhart is the least impactful of the 3 players rumored about</div></div>
For throw ins, you're taking on alot...... and getting back Lindblom and a 1st for Reinhart may be selling him short. Guy is still young and getting better. He's a 50 pt guy now, what's to say he isn't a 60-70 pt guy in the future? Lindblom has done nothing yet although its still early and the 1st may end up being another Girgensons. Then....you essentially traded a 50+ Reinhart for.....Lindblom.
That's why I'm saying this trade is for nothing. You aren't addressing any real needs on the team. Your just swinging for the fences hoping for a home run.
Just because those 3 guys are in rumours doesn't mean you <em>have</em> to trade them.

Reinhart to Philly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>I get the point but this draft is way higher regarded than 2012 which seems to be pretty weak all around.</div></div>
ahhhhh yada yada yada. Every year its the same thing. "this years draft is going to be a high end draft". Its the same non sense. Last year might have been the one year where people actually said it was a weak draft and they still had some gems come through.
You can't justify the 19th pick being more valuable than the player drafted @2 a couple years back. I think Reinhart is progressing just fine. Its Buffalo that is sucking. Reinhart on a playoff team is a regular 50-60 point guy. I wouldn't give that up so lightly. He's only what 22?

BUF blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Would be Saad and the #8th pick for Risto and #27th, Murphy, Duclair and 3rd rounder. I hear you, but Saad is only 25 years old and if you look at his stats beyond points CORSI was in the top 10. He had a down year but will bounce back. Duclair has huge upside, he will be a 40-50 point player, just needs the right system with room to play. Hawks don't have the room for him and were bouncing between him and Hino...Hino won out being a Chicago native and more aggressive but Duclair is faster, has better hands and a better shot. As a Hawks fan, I hate to let him go as he is going to blossom into a solid 2LW/3LW player.</div></div>
I have 0 faith in Duclair, outside of that one season I havent liked anything about his game. I think Saad wouldnt fit in Botterill's build.

Saad and Duclair arent worth gambling Risto, let alone ROR. Murphy and 2 firsts are a good start. I dont really see Risto moving though, unless its for an upgrade. Botts wants to compete next year

Ya the #1 OA pick (Dahlin) who is controllable for the next decade isn't worth a guy with 1 year left...
