DownTown Sports Trade
Arizona could do better considering what they are giving up here.
Its not off the wall crazy but, I just think that if those players are on the block, they could get a better return by trading them individually.

Pretty good trade deadline
All of these trades are lite in regards to what they would be receiving from Toronto.
All of these teams could do better than these offers were they inclined on trading those particular pieces.
Its a pretty easy no from all of them. It is a laughable no from the Islanders.
Put yourself in the other team's position when you come up with this stuff and ask yourself... "Would I do this if it were the team that I support?"
Would you trade TJ Brodie for... a bad contract who's already been waived once + an AHL'er with very little NHL upside + 2nd round pick in the late 40's and ask for a retention too??
It is a pretty easy no right? So... why would the Islanders do it?

Toughness
Actually.... were these moves ever on the table, I would do it in a heartbeat. Not sure the other teams would though.
This is exactly the kind of depth that would help without giving up large amounts of higher end assets.
Nice work!
Still want a larger scale move to the D core but, not a bad start at all.

Trying to Manifest This Trade into Reality
Its not enough for Arizona. Sandin + 1st 2022 + Another high prospect probably gets them listening on Chychrun alone. The rest of the stuff is just fluff.
I would NOT do this if I were the Leafs. I doubt Arizona would do it at all.

a little chippier
Its WAY too much movement. The Leafs would never do something like this in season.
All of that aside, those prices are kind of laughable for the other teams involved. Most if not all would not even consider these moves for those returns. (Especially with the retentions).
Theres also this thing called the salary cap to consider. Big miss there too.
Absolutely no chance of this happening.

As a Leafs fan, I would not pay that price for Klingberg. (Especially as a pure rental).
He's not really what the Leafs need on the back end IMO.
Its a pass for me.

That is an absolutely horrible return for the Islanders and there is no way they would ever consider it.
The other two seem so irrelevant that I would never consider it if I were the Leafs.

It is excellent value for Vancouver if they really want to move Miller IMO.
Still seems unlikely with Ritchie attached to it though.

If Matthews is out long term, (LTIR), there won't be any issues with the cap at all.
They have to play without Matthews and short a roster player to activate the emergency call clause.

I absolutely love this trade from a Leafs perspective and I would do it in a nanosecond.
I doubt the Ducks would though. (Especially with the retentions).
Nice work though! I really like the pieces.

Colorado
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>lot of people knocking on Crouse.
Not that I think he's worth that. But I'll give him credit. He's got 10 5v5 goals in 41 games. He's getting production.
At 24 I think he's probably a guy I'd take a run at, but not for that.</div></div>
Personally, I'm not knocking on Crouse at all. I just think that is a steep price for someone who will likely be a bottom six player on the Av's.
I think if Colorado was serious about chasing Crouse, they could do it for less than Jost and a 1st.
Maybe thats just me.

That isn't enough for Chychrun and there will be much better offers for Arizona to choose from.
I don't see the Flyers trading Hart. They will build around him. He's young enough and good enough to be part of their plan.
So, all in all.... not very realistic IMO when you consider the needs of the other teams involved not from Alberta.

With all due respect to McDavid, this seems like a lateral and unnecessary move for the Leafs.
In short, there is no need for this.

You are just overvaluing Kerfoot. (Most Leaf fans do).
Credit to him for putting together a decent season. Thats great. At the end of the day, he is around a 40ish point forward over the course of a full season.
He isn't worth a 1st unless some team wants to overpay to get him. Better options for less money are available.
Prices are always inflated through the blue and white goggles.
I will not be commenting further.

If your argument is he isn't worth that intrinsically in the long run, sure I'd agree with that, but that has no bearing on what he can return.</div></div>
My "argument" is that he won't be traded in season this year. In the offseason, his value will drop. There are many "Kerfoot-like" players available for less every offseason.
Kerfoot is not returning a first round pick on his own. No way.

Alexander Kerfoot is a top-6 LW on a 60 point pace signed for 3.5 aav. Stop trading him for anything less than a 1st</div></div>
He is having a fine season. He is NOT a 60 point forward year in and year out.
He is very expendable if it means keeping Campbell.
No brainer.
The big move is unloading Mrazek and finding a serviceable backup for around a million+ dollars.
If the plan is to keep all of the "big four" plus Reilly on his new extension, Kerfoot may become a victim of the numbers game.
I'd be fine with that. He doesn't move the needle enough to lose a more important piece.
Those are the facts.
