He is having a fine season. He is NOT a 60 point forward year in and year out.

He is very expendable if it means keeping Campbell.

No brainer.

The big move is unloading Mrazek and finding a serviceable backup for around a million+ dollars.

If the plan is to keep all of the "big four" plus Reilly on his new extension, Kerfoot may become a victim of the numbers game.

I'd be fine with that. He doesn't move the needle enough to lose a more important piece.

Those are the facts.

He's not worth a 1st.

If someone wants to overpay, also fine.

There are guys much worse than him who are going to fetch a first. He is absolutely worth that on the trade market and he will get that or equivalent value, maybe more.

If your argument is he isn't worth that intrinsically in the long run, sure I'd agree with that, but that has no bearing on what he can return.

My "argument" is that he won't be traded in season this year. In the offseason, his value will drop. There are many "Kerfoot-like" players available for less every offseason.

Kerfoot is not returning a first round pick on his own. No way.

I don't know how to tell you other than you're flat out wrong. You are misjudging the trade market badly here. Literally everything you said in this last comment is likely wrong and isn't backed up by years of evidence.

You are just overvaluing Kerfoot. (Most Leaf fans do).

Credit to him for putting together a decent season. Thats great. At the end of the day, he is around a 40ish point forward over the course of a full season.

He isn't worth a 1st unless some team wants to overpay to get him. Better options for less money are available.

Prices are always inflated through the blue and white goggles.

I will not be commenting further.

Most Leafs fans undervalue Kerfoot, not over.

That is all it takes to get a 1st+ in the NHL. Take a gander around the league at guys who got a 1st or more, or who are projected to get a 1st this year. Moreover its a results driven buisness and he is on a 60 point pace now. This year and is still considered young, which only costing 3.5 on the cap. That carries immense value.

Who, and who is available more importantly?

Have you not paid attention to this site ever? Leafs are always undervalued on here. Feel free to bookmark and come back when he gets moved, you're wrong and have no evidence to support your position. I have years of deadline deals and NHL zeitgeist on player value backing mine.

Say a ****ty option, don't back it up, insult me by yelling bias then run away.

That a hell of an act there chief

You'd have to pay CHI to take Mrazek. There's no way you'd be getting anything from them for him.

I don't think anyone wants Mrazek. You're paying to get rid of him

Ritchie costs more to get rid. Leafs have to add sweeteners to get rid of Mrzarek. You've weakened the defence by trading Holl. Weakened the top 6 by trading Kerfoot.
The reality is Campbell is a UFA, and can sign elsewhere.
Instead of weakening the Leafs in multiple positions and losing picks, and to resign Campbell, maybe trade Nylander forfeitures.f

That actually may happen this offseason because of Dubas giving out all these NTC or NMC contracts. Muzzin, Rielly, Brodie and even Holl have a decision on where they go. Matthews, Tavares and Marner aren't getting moved, so that doesn't leave a lot of options. If they resign Campbell, Kerfoot will be gone for sure and who knows what else.
