Whats up
That trade makes no sense for the Sens. Trade for a contract with way too much term, while they aren't close to compete for the play offs and they aren't improving on the long term

Hawks Seabrook trade
Well the value is about right to get rid of Seabrook. Great prospect or a lotterypick and a 2nd at least. And Ottawa could be the only team who is kinda willing to make a trade including Seabrook

Would the rangers do this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AJC13</b></div><div>That's not true... Puljujarvi has already played 139 games in the NHL for EDM and when he didn't make the team this year because he sucks, he went to play overseas. Saying he doesn't want to play for EDM is a flat out lie. EDM doesn't want Puljujarvi to play for them because he's not good enough to play in the NHL.</div></div>
Well you obviously haven't paid any attention this entire offseason. Here a short summary: Oilers wanted to extend Puljujarvi. Puljujarvi is unhappy about how he has been treated at the Oilers in the past years and was unwilling to even negotiate with them. He requested a trade, but the Oilers don't necessarily want to trade him because management wants him on the team. So they ask quite a lot in return, which results in him not being traded yet so he signed a contract in Europe. This contract includes a NHL opt-out clause in case he gets traded because he wants to play in the NHL. But like he said: he'll never play a game for the Oilers.
He never reported for trainingcamp. It's ok if you don't follow the Oilers, but try to stick with the facts please

Would the rangers do this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AJC13</b></div><div>No way Gorton makes this trade... Why would the Rangers or any other wise GM trade for a bust of a 1st round pick like PulJujarvi? If Puljujarvi is such a great prospect, why is EDM trying to trade him? Why is he playing overseas instead of playing in the NHL? Gorton said last trade deadline he's not interested in other teams prospects and that he wants draft picks instead. Any GM that trades anything of value for Puljujarvi is a fool and Gorton has proven that he's no fool.</div></div>
Well the reason why the Oilers want to trade him is because Puljujarvi refuses to sign any contract with the Oilers. Oilers aren't really willing to trade him but Puljujarvi doesn't want to be a part of that team. That's why he has an NHL opt-out clause in his contract in Europe in case the Oilers trade him

Seabrook Backes Eriksson
Would be great for the Sens to take on bad contracts with a 1st round pick. Especially since they got so much cap space and need to reach the cap floor next year. But honestly, you should get a lottery pick along with a decent prospect / middle 6 forward / 2nd pairing d-man or a 2nd round pick for taking that terrible Seabrook contract. He got 4 years left after this season while the contract is buyout proof and it's aging really bad.

Possible Seabrook trades
Yeah the Hawks would love those trades. But no team will trade for that awful, buyout proof, contract which is aging terrible. For a contract like that you'll have to give up a lot, like a lottery pick and a middle 6 forward / 2nd pairing D-man / decent prospect or a 2nd round pick. Nobody wants Seabrook. His contract is way worse than Marleau so you'll have to give up more value than the Leafs did

Seabrook- new lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Elvis is 25 with a .863 save%, he's not going to become Lehner in 3 years, in fact he may be back in Europe in 3 years. They also have the Seattle draft, with a waived NTC it be easier to give Seabrook to Seattle. If not you buy him out in 2 years.</div></div>
His contract is pretty much buy-out proof. Wouldn't save much money during the length of the contract and his buyout would carry a 700K caphit for 4 more years after it would have expired

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aussie_Blackhawk</b></div><div>What would you say if they added rights to a 3rd round pick from last couple of years? Someone like a Nordgren?</div></div>
Nope you've got to add something valuable to get rid of Seabrook. He's on a bad contract which isn't aging well. And worst of all: his contract is basically buyout proof. It's a lot to take on for a team which is trying to make the playoffs.
That TBL 1st rounder has pretty much the same value as the Sens 2nd round pick so it's not that great. Just look at the Marleau trade. Marleau, a 1st and 7th for a 6th round pick. You're offering less value on a way worse contract while getting more in return. To get rid of Seabrook, you'll have to give at least a 1st rounder from a non-playoff team and something with like a 2nd round value like a middle 6 forward or a 2nd pairing D-man. Or a great prospect and the TBL 1st or any non-playoff team 2nd rounder IMO.

No more than 6.5M for Barrie? He'll likely get at least 7.5M as an UFA. Leafs shouldn't really spend that much on 1 defenseman with their cap situation and all expiring contracts at the blue line

Anaheim won't be the team that'll trade for Hall. They need some retool/rebuild so giving up this years 1st and Steel for a rental would be a bad trade. Hall probably moves to a team with a closing window, with Devils retaining 50% (teams like the Sharks).

SC-goal salary-wise pre-expansion
Don't give Jost an extension like that. He hasn't showed enough for such a contract. A prospect on ELC would be a better alternative than Jost with 6x4.5M contract. Newhook might be ready to play NHL in like 2 seasons and Kadri is a better center than Jost. Sign Jost for 2 more years at a lower AAV so he can prove he's a good NHL player and to give Newhook some more time to develop

Lol you think Anaheim would do that trade? Trade away a top 3 goalie in the league on (by far) the best contract among goalies. Rakell and Kase are good players on great team friendly contracts and Manson is their best RD on a good contract as well. And what do they get in return? Andersen for 2x5M, a really good but overpaid winger who'll likely produce less at Anaheim, a rental and a player who still has a lot to prove. Not a Ducks fan but if Anaheim would do that trade, it would be a massive loss for them and the GM should get fired. Maybe they would do it if the Leafs resign Barrie and they'll retain 50% on Marner and Barrie lol

Because Doug wanted to go in a different, younger, direction and wasn't interested in bringing Marleau back, until this terrible 0-4-0 start while being outscored 5-17. Pure desperation by the Sharks and Marleau really wanted to play at SJ again

Who knows if he actually ends up in COL, but please for the love of god stop acting surprised if he does.</div></div>
Blue line a total mess? Maybe it won't be that good this season since some players need some more development. But as LHD: Girard, Zadorov, Cole, Rosen en Graves, as RHD: Johnson, Makar and Timmins. Wouldn't say it's that bad. Trading for jj wouldn't make sense. At best they would go for a RHD rental. And why trade for a goalie who will be sent down and requires waivers. Teams will only trade for jj if the Pens add something interesting

The future
Backstrom contract doesn't make sense for the Avs. Way too much term and Newhook should be ready at that time. Expect the Avs to keep Kadri on the 2nd line until Newhook arrives.
Kaut would be in the top 9, which could mean that Compher moves to the fourth line. And I expect more from Bura than Jost as a 2nd line winger

It would be a bad trade for the Ducks. Looks like Faulk has to save the Ducks. Don't think he'll waive to go to the Ducks. Especially since the Ducks would want an extension and Faulk has the Ducks on his no-trade list for a reason

Who makes it out of camp
I think you got the right lines. Maybe Barberio or Connauton will play on the third line to add some experience. Timmins might start at the Eagles after missing last season. Byram gets his 9 games. I think Graves will start at the Eagles too, with Rosen getting NHL minutes. Because Rosen should be ready for the NHL and he's a waiver exempt which makes it easier when Cole returns

Nothing happening
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Great question: The Caps still have four top-four defensemen, so it's a cheap top-four defenseman they don't need vs. cheap offensive guys they don't need. And at that point it comes down to value, even though for a lot of Caps fans, Kempny is perfect in every way and should never go anywhere.
I guess if they asked for more, maybe it'd be a Copley/Blackwood swap? That would give them cap space to carry 23 healthy guys on opening night, but at that point I'm guessing the 4th goes the other way, due to the age difference between the two promising backups.</div></div>
Sorry but Djoos isn't a top 4 defenseman yet. He was 'lucky' that Kempny got injured because he was scratched in 11 of the 12 matches before the Kempny injury. He's an unproven player who might start the season as a scratch again.
Kempny has good chemistry with Carlson and the Caps missed him during the playoffs. He's definitely not a player they don't need. Maybe if you're really high on Djoos, trade for him :-)
