I wouldn't be surprise that the Nylander camp has the number $88 stuck in there head. So $11 AAV, he wants the J.T. contract.
Then J.T. must take the ole Nylander contract, $7 AAV.
So it's even Steven in Leafland.

Canucks decline. If they give up a 1st it's for a young defenceman with team control like Hronek, not for 3 months of an aging rental who doesn't fit our core.

Doubt the devils would move Mcelod as they're competing and he's a big part of their depth, but maybe if NSH was selling at the deadline Glass could be acquired for something

Devs need Mcleod. He makes that 4th line go from horrific to quality.
As a contender he'd be a pretty penny.
He's not worth it but based on the current center market, the team makeup, and his age/contract/play, we'd probably need a 1st

Whats the price
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>westleysnipez</b></div><div>What a world. A 1st for a bottom-six center.
Realistically, you could expect a 3rd+low-tier prospect, maybe a 2nd for him. Only a totally desperate GM would spend a 1st on a bottom sixer as a hail mary. Some recent examples involving the Canucks, Dallas moved Dickinson (pre-cliff dive in performance) for a 3rd, and Lafferty went for a 5th as a bottom-six righty center. They all had/have similar stat lines and similar performances. McLeod has the benefit of being a couple of years younger and RFA.</div></div>
We don't have any other realistic 4th line C options, and very little in the pipeline in that area (while Mercer and Haula are quality Cs, neither fit into a 4th line role). We're not trying to play chris tierney as a contender. He makes our 4th line go from horrific/unplayable to quality.
Mcleod is probably the best 4C in hockey.
quality PK, best faceoff guy in hockey.
Rental vs RFA aren't comparable.
Like I said, he isn't worth that, but that would be the price

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>westleysnipez</b></div><div>I can respect that. Any good team needs guys like that, who bring more value than they'd fetch in a trade. That's a good find then.</div></div>
In a different situation I'd say he would fetch a 2nd.
But the man took a discount to stay in Jersey.
Our C pool is our weakest in terms of prospects
And we need him this year.
Additionally, although I don't expect him to ever turn into anything special offensively, he looks to finally be developing at least some sense of offensive touch/ability starting from the playoffs last year.
Plan to sign him long term.

1) They'll overvalue Podzlokin
2) To my knowledge the rationale for VAN looking to move Garland is to free up space, so it may not make sense.</div></div>
How about explaining what Van gets out of this deal.....apart from nothing. Rakell doesn't fit on the roster or salary structure (just like in Pittsburgh) so dumping him will cost ya. POJ is the epitome of an overvalued asset LOL. At least Podkolzin has upside........

Anderson is not a better 5v5 player at all, please research the facts before falsely stating that he is. While Laine isn’t a complete player, he’s far better than Anderson. Just because Anderson hits more and can skate fast doesn’t make him better when he’s awful offensively and defensively

Stop with the Anderson for Laine BS, Columbus has zero interest in bringing back Anderson. And those pieces alone aren't worth taking Anderson back let alone any value going to Columbus.

Good Future
Myers is playing like the Top-4 defenseman he always could be. Having Hronek in has made him so much better because he's not having to play 22 mins/night against the opposing team's best line. He's able to play 20 mins/night against the 2nd/3rd lines.
Very easy no for Vancouver. Fabbro is a #5 puck moving defender which isn't something Vancouver needs. Vancouver is looking for someone who is an upgrade compared to Myers in case of injuries (like what's happened with Soucy now).
Ideally its:
Hughes - Hronek
Soucy - TRADE TARGET
Cole - Myers
Brisebois/Friedman/Hirose/Juulsen
Or even a #2 RHD to drop Hronek down to a Top-4. Just depends on what the cost is from whichever team it is.

I have Doubts Tanev will fetch a 1st, even if we are a contender our window is just opening moving a 1st for a soon to be 34 year old ufa just isn't in the cards for us at the moment, if we are moving a 1st it will be for another young team controlled dman like the hronek trade.

Dvorak is undeniably better than Beau, its not very close this year
MTL doesn't trade Matheson for a late 1st and B+ prospect that is 100% sure, but I can see why VAN doesn't want anything to do with Matheson</div></div>
Savard has been worse than Myers for the previous 3 seasons. Myers has also been solid this season outside of a couple games
Beauvillier hasn’t been great this season but still has a better PPG than Dvorak and is better defensively. Also is an expiring deal. The only thing Dvorak has on him is he can play C
The Matheson part neither team wants to do I agree
