I'd dump ryjo and prosvetov in Arizona system if you gonna retain fleury for the cup run.
Then for the henrique rental I'd trade a 2nd at most and a prospect. A 1st is an overpayment for a rental. You might as well get lindholm if you go the rental route

avs look good tbh
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bcooke</b></div><div>Going to guess that they split MacK and Rantanen this year. JT Compher had a career high in points playing next to Rantanen for large portions of the year and getting time on PP1. RyJo is a better offensive player than JTC, so if he gets the same opportunity, he should outperform what Compher did last season (17-35-52). If he is healthy all year, 52 points for 4 mil is just fine. Any improvement over JTC's total is value added.</div></div>
This is what I'm thinking.
Drouin Mack Lehky
Nichuskin RyJo Rantanen
Mikko is strong enough now to put a line on his back and Nichuskin can take care of the physical stuff. All RyJo needs to do is be in the right spots.

Toews Extension Guess
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dru34</b></div><div>Why are so many people always trying to put Landy back in the line up so fast?
The specific surgery he just had will take the entirety of 2 years of recovery time for his new cartilage to fully mature before he can even try to push himself.
Trying to rush his recovery sooner then 2 years all but guarantees he'll never play another game in the NHL again since his new cartilage can't physically be fully matured faster.
23/24 = 0 games, 24/25 = 0 games, 25/26 he can finally train and push himself to try and get back to NHL ready.
TL DR don't need to trade Manson, put Landy back on LTIR .</div></div>
I mean nobody really knows, when he will be back or if he will come back. I think everyone shows is that if he comes back there has to be some major reconfiguring to fit his 7 mil back into the group, so we can't just start firing off contracts next year and then be 7 mil over the cap mid season if he comes off LTIR. Look at this year he thought he was coming back all year then handcuffed us with 7 mil of cap space heading into playoffs, which hurt us major for depth scoring.

Love Toews but Dunn deal makes him unkeepable
I disagree with you on the dunn deal. I think it makes him more affordable. Dunn has just put up more points than toews has, he's 2 years younger, so it's almost a late bridge deal in his career. Toews next contract will pretty much be his last one unless he takes a 1 year deal for some reason. But i think it gives us a ~7.5mil average over say 8 years. Now there would have to be a lot of manipulation of the roster over the next two years to make it work but i think it's more affordable now.

I really think this is it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bcooke</b></div><div>This is the roster I want as well. Suter would be a great fit on that 3rd line until Kovalenko arrives (I think Kovalenko is going to fit perfect as a playmaker with Colton and Wood). Suter can handle 4C in the playoffs with Meyers floating around the bottom 6 based on injury need.
Don't really care for Foote, but at under 1M, I don't really care. I would prefer JJ/Hunt but they have several options that aren't MacDermid to fill the 6/7/8 D spots.</div></div>
Foote is very much a flyer. If he works out them great. And if not there are other options and he goes on waivers. It's a no risk move, but one that makes sense taking a shot on imo.

Agree that Wood at RW is my biggest reservation, but I think he can take needless penalties on his off wing just as effectively, lol.
Toews and Girard have been really really good together in the past, and I see no reason why Byram wouldn't excel with Cale. I think this balances the D better, as for some reason Bo and Sam don't seem to click. But I hear you as well.

Yeah, Malgin hasn't been consistent but he's now got two seasons where he's scored more than 10 goals in the NHL. That's still worth something. I think a deal right at 1 is still fair for him, and frankly what he showed us last year tells me that we don't need those minor league options for him. In fact, I'm starting to wonder if the 2-way deal is what's holding up Meyers. I'll bet CMAC wants that minor league option for him and his camp doesn't want that.</div></div>

Colton is JTC but more physical (Colton had 151 more hits than JTC last year playing a lot fewer minutes) and with greater goal-scoring ability; he's an upgrade so far as I can tell.

Don't think Peeke is gonna be traded for scraps considering hes a semi-cheap shot blocking RHD that just started an extension. Would be a perfect 3rd pairing for a contender like Colorado. If we retain him like how Nashville did Ekholm he could fetch a minimum 2nd, or maybe a 1st since GMs love their big RHD

i personally think it makes sense to go 8 years to get that cap hit down as low as possible. when it's half way through the majority of our players will be starting to regress anyways. we gotta win while we can over the next 4/5 years before every one is 33 and older

Projecting 2024-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>Oh yeah, I don't think it is highly likely unless he gives us a huge hometown discount for one more Cup run; I just wanted to narrow down what we could even offer him at all as we are pretty stuck with the cap crunch despite the increase over the next few seasons.
If Manson could stay healthy then I would have no problem moving out Sam Girard since we have a couple high-end prospects to replace him but we have nothing to replace Manson so he is vitally important to our roster and any future draft picks would be too far out in the future before they could help out. Moving Toews to the right side is certainly an option if Manson isn't reliable but they would have to move his salary out to do it, as you pointed out.</div></div>
Manson is way easier to replace (and less costly to do so) than Girard. Yes the Avs have prospects that profile more as a Sam Girard player, but until they prove they're ready, I think Girard should stay.
I was shocked the team signed Manson. Then I saw that his trade protection opened up at the same time Toews was due for his raise and it made a lot more sense. I think they put that rip cord in there for a very specific reason. If Toews takes a reasonable deal, Manson is as good as gone. If Toews asks for too much, then Manson stays and they need to figure out how to fill the giant hole Toews departure leaves. That's how I see it anyway.

Projecting 2024-25
You’re running 23 COL never runs 23 they almost always run 21(it’s one of sole reasons MacDermid makes the team so often) that gives you an extra $1.6M that you can give to Toews that gets you closer to realistic, but no way no how does Toews sign a 1 year deal. But as mentioned above if you want to re-sign Toews Manson or Girard has to be moved.

Toews doesn't consider doing that for even a single second. If you want to keep him, one of Girard or Manson needs to go.

Yeah I got ahead of myself because second best to Makar is like drasaitel to McDavid
At the same time my point is also that Nylander can be a good teams #1 option upfront also I believe, ofcourse on Colorado he's not #1 but he would be great the #2 option
Toews is great I think he's better than Reilly but I also think they're in the same tier as #1 options on the backend meaning only the most elite are above them yeah I guess I can agree this trade is probably swayed in favour of Toronto but depends on how you rate lehkonen I'd have to say
I think Toews for Nylander is pretty close after the points you made I was a bit off I still think Nylander is more valuable he's in the top elite of the league considering he's being compared with Matthews, Marner and Toews is in the second tier of the good defensemen but it's close Toews is very valuable
That's where I stand now lol</div></div>
Nylander wouldn't be the #2 option on the Avs even. He'd be behind at least Nate & Mikko. I'd argue that in value to the team he might not even be 3 or 4, so that would make him a luxury that they simply can't afford. Be nice to have, just unaffordable in the cap era and especially with it having been flat. That doesn't mean that he isn't good it just proves the point of how much value Toews has compared to Nylander for the Avs. The Avs need to focus on all round depth not another star player that they couldn't afford to re-sign.

But I guess I do understand your argument but my opinion is Nylander is worth 2 Devon Toews even as good of a defenseman as he is.
I think nylanders worth 2 of any teams second best defensemen just my opinion</div></div>
I think the GF/G you are looking at for COL was playoff stats only? I’m seeing closer to 3.3, not 2.7.
I think using the stance that Toews is COLs second best defenseman is flawed because he’d be a #1 on most teams because not everyone has a Cale Makar..
I think Toews > Reilly everyday of the week to be honest. Toews is just so well rounded and I think he’d even sign for less than Reilly’s 7.5mil

Byram 21:53
Girard 21:30

3rd pairing dmen don’t average over 21 minutes in fact he was 63rd in the league in TOI. You need to get past the fact if you list him on depth chart at LD you slot him at 3rd
