<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>You can't just resign a UFA that easily...I wouldn't bank on doing that, especially because that same year you also have to sign Chytil, Buch, Igor, Lindgren, and more!

The reasons for the Rangers to deal Strome are
a) He blocks Chytil whose development into the top 6 is paramount
and
b) Rangers are in a slight cap crunch needing to sign Deangelo long term, so because Strome would be a 3C on this team, it doesn't make sense for the Rangers to sign him,

However, there are plenty of teams where Strome <em>would</em> be the 2C: Winnipeg, Anaheim, Columbus, Detroit, Florida, just to name a few.

Find a team with a hole at 2C and a solid 3C to spare. work out the difference in picks. go from there.</div></div>

Minnesota does need a Center (koivu, and Galchenyuk are gone and Staal is getting old) and I was just trying to find a whole to fill with Strome as opposed to just getting draft picks back. But you can make a trade with the implications of resigning prior to it like Stone did with VGK. Like I said though I thought it was 2 years of Brodin so that wouldve been worth it since this is the time to sell on Strome.

As for the signings of Buch, Chytil and them I wouldn't worry about them until it gets there. They are RFAs besides Buch and not worth much yet. Still need to get through Expansion draft first.

And clearly Minnesota fans (look at other comments above) think they can easily re sign Brodin lol. And Strome isnt enough for a year of Brodin so like I said his value is all over the board right now.
