Detroit gets Pettersson and Kapanen (saves you a bundle of cap).
PIT gets Erne and McIsaac (cheap grinder and a good LD prospect still exempt from waivers).
How do we make this work?</div></div>
Berggren instead of McIsaac?

Send link, you chirped OP for his contract, so we need more than "trust me bro." I've read he wants a raise on his current, and Sevarelli said above 7, no one has said 7.

This is 2 firsts, a 1st round prospect, a 24 yr old top 4 dman, a solid yound 3rd line centre, and a fast top 9 forward which is worth minimum 5 first rounders package. For a guy who would be Pittsburghs 5th best forward?

Pens would not. Garland is barely better than Rakell so if Pens take out Marino and Blueger we could probably do it.

Bertuzzi
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy12Bob</b></div><div>The thing is that Detr
The thing is that Detroit doesn't have to trade Bert. The best option might very well be to keep him.
Pettersson can be had cheap in the offseason. PIT have cap problems and will likely have to trade either him or Matheson and both are interesting for Detroit.
Hållander hasn't really panned out and Kapanen only produces half of what Bert does.
In a worst case scenario (where Bert declares he's going UFA) we may still get an even better deal at next years TDL where we can retain 50% and really fleece some desperate GM. Keeping him gives us 80 points next season that we won't have without him.</div></div>
No you don't have to trade Bert but you'd get more this yr than next bc his contract is so team friendly. Maybe this isn't the package but if you don't believe u can resign than trade him this yr not next. For next year do you really want that 80 points? You guys aren't close to competing for a cup so do worse and get better picks. You are 21 points out of the playoffs with over 20 games left in the season. So why want points from Bert. Take the picks/prospect. Petterson is a solid young Dman who you are right can be had for like a 2nd. Kap will get you 40 points, and will probably be able to pull it together away from Sully. A 1st is a 1st, and hallander is still only 21, maybe you guys want POJ or Legare or both instead (I dont think we will trade Poulin).
I think this offer atleast starts the convo. As bertuzzi could be nastyyyy with the Pens.

Making Jim happy and clearing cap space in Pittsburgh
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chigurrhh</b></div><div>It really isn’t. Garland is a good two way player, young, and signed long-term.
Poulin is going to be a third liner at best. Kapanen has been terrible and needs a new contract. Sullivan is scratching Pettersson to play Mark Friedman. The late first likely gets you a Poulin-level player.
The Penguins need to move one of their LD to make the cap work. They also need to add a top six winger.
This is fair value to clear cap space and acquire a very good player.</div></div>
Still definitely an overpay. 1st + Poulin is probably close maybe Kap or Pettersson to tip the scales but not both

I think k you can argue the Atlantic is the best division in the league the last 3 Stanley cups have had 4 Atlantic teams
B’s, TB and Montreal</div></div>
I think Metro is better because there is no Ottawa, Mtl, Buff, Det. Metro also has 3 of the last 6 cups. Pretty close though. Either way the East has 8 of the best 10ish teams

Giroux in a pens jersey would be awesome

You wont make a flyers captain who has played 1000 games with the team, sign with their rivals.</div></div>
I mean crazier things have happened. He will either we be playing w Crosby or Malkin 5v5 and join a powerplay of guentzel, Letang Geno sid. Definitely not a bad spot for a UFA trying to get a decent contract next year

Boeser is a top-6 one. Probably the best at a solid 2nd line, but can take a 1st line role as well.
In my opinion there's a clear difference between Kappy and Boeser, and a low first is far from enough to compensate on that.</div></div>
5v5 this year Kapanen has more points 45% more points, so if you say he produces like a good 3rd liner than Boeser produces like a good 4th liner. This comes with Boeser spending his most amount at 5v5 with Miller and Pettersson, and Kap spending his with Zucker and Rodrigues.
Im sure if Kap had those consistent teammates and played PP1 he may out produce BB. Now don't get me wrong I think BB is better than KK but by how much? Marginally. Relax w the KK slander

That "third liner" is not doing well, hence why pens fans are trying to trade him. I get it if it doesn't do much for Van in their state but the value is definently there, and Kap isn't a third liner he just happens to be the 3rd best RW on Pittsburgh rn (Rust, Carter). He's a 2nd line winger and so is Boeser, and I think a first is more than enough to make up the difference.

Fact is, getting those 1st pairing minutes with TOR best offensive players shouldn't you be getting more production out of him?
I mean come on, I've asked this repeatedly, Why are his numbers all down. We've gone with he's now magically a "defensive defenseman" which is just pure BS at best.
What else do you have?
I mean really what does it say for Matheson, when you say he doesn't have real help, and he's out pacing your guy?</div></div>

I don't get it either. To me Brodie and Dumoulin are the same player, both are #2 Dman to elite offensive defensiveman, both play shutdown defensive roles as there partners like to pinch. Both have embarrassingly bad shots LOL. Only difference would be Brodies a better skater, and Dumo is bigger. I'm a pens fan who lives in southern ontario so all I watch the Leafs fairly often, and the argument that matheson is better is just a incorrect argument. He does have some moments of brilliance followed by many moments of just poor defensive play.
