<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>Personally i don't see why columbus is always trading away sillinger, he will most likely become a good 2C with fantilli being your 1C. In two years both your center core is solved and you could use your picks to draft or help you in areas for when your window actually opens.</div></div>

Even if he's not a 2C he should end up as a very good 3C. I'm interested in how he'll do next year without a training camp concussion and with competent linemates for more than 10 games.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>goodjobbjs</b></div><div>I see where you're coming from. If you make this trade you don't have to worry about acquiring a top 6 center for the next 8 years. Until the Jackets find one playoff success feels unlikely to me. If Jarmo can make it happen and make the cap work I think he will try. If he can't make the cap work I agree it shouldn't happen. I feel like they're more inclined to make a move like this because Gaudreau is only getting older. Sillinger probably won't be a 50-60 pt guy for another few years. With all the young wings I think it might be good to have a vet in the middle to balance it out</div></div>

I agree with needing another top 6C. I just think Lindholm is too expensive in the cost to acquire and the cost to extend him for the age that he is. If we were talking about a center that was going to be starting his new contract at 27 or 28 I'd be a lot more comfortable with the idea, but he's gonna be 30 a couple months into his next contract. Also, as nice as it would be to have two thirds of the Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk line, I don't like the idea of paying ~$18M for them while missing the guy who was the real heart of the line.

- If I had to guess, at least one of Foudy/ Bemstrom will not be with the team next year. They are both waivers-exempt and would likely be claimed - Foudy most definitely. I like Robinson and Danforth, who honestly started to gain some momentum as the season went on. With both of them having new extension kicking in next year, I doubt they are moved, unless part of a bigger trade.

- Agreed that Chinny and/or Chenko should be in the AHL next year, if only to start. Chinny should have spent more time there this season, to be frank. I'd even think KJ could benefit from some seasoning in Cleveland.

- Gus should be traded. With retention, I truly believe someone would give up a 1st for him. Or at least a good prospect.

- Laine will not get that much. Aaron Portzline suggested a month or two ago that he and CBJ were already negotiating a deal in the range of $8.5M x 5-6. Mind you, that was *during* his hot streak.

- That feels kind of low for Rosy, who I feel has only begun to scratch his potential. He was very sheltered in WPG, had a (perhaps unsustainable) breakout last year, and I feel likely (hopefully) settled into a constitent role as this year went on. If I had to guess, he and CBJ agree to a one year deal (he'd still be an RFA), and see where he goes from here.

- Tex is difficult. Portzline reported Tex is not only planning on being ready for next season, but he very much wants to be in Columbus; but, the logjam is real, and apparently teams were calling GMJK with some good offers...

- Haven't seen or thought of Copp's fit with CBJ. He doesn't seem like he'd be a bad pick-up...I'd just be worried giving a 6x6 to a guy who really has only recently proven he's worth that kind of money.

A lot of interesting thoughts here. Not to mention whatever players come out of the '22 draft. Though, I keep getting the feeling that if CBJ end up with two 1sts this year, they will use one of them to swing something.
