Please explain, with some numbers.</div></div>
Well if you ask the analytics people who think they know everything will tell you he sucks even though they never watch him or any hockey at all.
If you ask a scout or someone who knows what they are talking about and actually watches him they will tell you that Doughty's only knock was his effort in the games that did not matter like against rebuilding teams for example. He's also had nothing but bottom pair D partners for 4 years straight, Derek Forbort and Joakim Ryan... When Doughty played rival teams or playoff teams he was the best defenseman on the ice.
If McDavid finds him as the hardest defenseman in the league to play against still to this day, that's gotta count for something.
Doughty got 5 points in 5 games 5 times last season as well as 6 points in 5 games once.

we will and you can enjoy ending second last in your division lol. If our only option is to rebuild than why would we trade a prospect for 2 bad player? Stop acting like Mtl is going to be good, your team is terrible, you got no center and your goalie is going to get pay 10.5M/year at 38 year old so good luck with your ''rebuild''

For the same reason Luongo is nearly 40 years old and on a long term contract....... Any reasoning as to adding Luongo at this juncture in time for LV is asinine. If I need to explain that one than we are at completely different wave lengths here. No point in debating any further.

You really don't understand the cap floor do you? Other teams have paid Arizona and Las Vegas players and picks to along with players on LTIR, Arizona and Vegas don't give up players an picks. With Hossa he might return, and wouldn't waive his NMC to go to Arizona anyway. And if he's on LTIR, it really doesn't make any difference to the Coyotes or Hawks Being on LTIR doesn't really hurt a teams cap anyway. Arizona doesn't need any additional "dead bodies" to reach the cap floor, they are fine.

Arizona’s owner won’t spend to the cap, they need to get to the cap floor. Franzens cap hit is almost 4 mil but actual salary is around 1 mil. This is a gift for them. Time for you to read up on LTIR. Learn the game, as GM of the Wings I know the ins and outs of this business. Take some notes, you may learn something.</div></div>
Sorry Red Wing, Arizona doesn't give up picks to take on Wings problems. I was being polite in first post. You trades are really bad....take some notes. Look at the Arizona, they are well above cap floor.

Luongo has a better playoff save percentage than him, although nowhere near the ballpark of Holtby (on a less good team that overpays a couple stars and has to get really creative to field a supporting cast), Keith (injured) or Murray (going to win it again in Pittsburgh if Vegas stands pat).
Luongo's contract is indeed much worse than Holtby's, so Vegas really has just one winning move to make.</div></div>

shame team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BrandonMcD11</b></div><div>can somebody actually tell me why people are bent on trading Price?</div></div>
Its quite simple. The current Habs structure means they should be competing for a cup for the next 5-10 years. The problem lies within the fact that the Habs structure is flawed drastically. We can't win a cup with this lineup and every year we wait longer to try and get that one piece, the older our two big caps (Weber and Price) get.
As its stands, to get the most out of both Price and Weber we need to be "all in" except not only do we not have the roster to seriously compete, we also don't have the assets to trade in order to get what we need to compete.
So to summarize:
We can't win with this roster.
We can't trade to get what we need to win with this roster.
We only have a limited amount of time before our current strong assets start to decline.
Obviously its not always about winning. Its about making the playoffs and getting large revenue from that which will have this team try to retool. So we'll be a playoff team again soon enough. Just not a cup calibre playoff team. I think most Habs fans have come to the realization that apparent "professionals" refuse to go to. The Habs need to rebuild! How do you rebuild? You trade all your big assets for futures.
Hence trade Price.

Leivo is a PP specialist that sure isn't in the lineup but that's because Babcock is stubborn has nothing to do with Leivo.
Rosen is unknown to me. He looked good when he was playing but had a couple brainfarts. He's played better on the Marlies.
The 1st won't be past 20th which is late 1st. Leafs are not contenders yet, Leafs are only in this position cause the Atlantic (beyond Lightning) is just SHOCKINGLY bad.
I don't see the intrigue with Tanev. He's not a make or break cup contending D man. If the Leafs get him it doesn't make them cup contenders.</div></div>
He started when Varmalov was hurt. He was traded for an AHL depth player and a 6th round pick 4 months ago.
you can't be a power play specialist when you have 10 NHL goals for YOUR CAREER

Why would this be a joke? this is the type of deal or proposal it would take for Bowman to trade Anisimov.
A 3rd liner, prospect and a pick... If anything the 3rd round pick may be a bit overkill but other than that it looks good and it's fair.

This offer works for both teams.</div></div>
??? They're 19 pts out of a playoff spot (with some games in hand) in the worst division... they are not in a position to trade a potential top 10 pick and one of their top 3 prospects for Pacioretty. They've won 3 more games than MTL, are you guys going all-in?

Kane Minus Towes=?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jbarre6</b></div><div>How long until CHI finally realize that Toews is a really bad contract.</div></div>
Some GM would have given Toews more than Bowman if he hit the UFA market, especially a couple of years ago.... If he hit the market today GM's would be interested.
Toews is a unique player and you cant measure what he brings to the game and the team on and off the ice based on point totals alone.
There was no way Bowman was going to let Toews hit the free market.... Not only that but nickle and dimeing a player sends a terrible message to that player - especially when that player was the captain of 3 championship teams and brought you to the Western Conference finals 5 times... Toews is the epitome of success, and that success will be rewarded... You can bet many GM's wanted some of that success too, because Toews has proven he can win everywhere he played.
So it's not as simple as you make it out to be.
I mean, would you be upset if your GM paid a player 1.5 million too much for winning your team 3 cups and a decade of success and to avoid a bidding war?
If it matters I don't think Bowman would entertain the idea of trading Toews.... Toews is still the face of the franchise, he's a proven winner and a fan favorite and still very much an asset to this team on and off the ice.... The Hawks best chance of winning in the present and future is Toews. When Toews is on his game he is pretty much unstoppable... Toews only flaw is that he's not consistent, but when he's on his game he's unstoppable - he takes it to another level.

Selling wins cause Selling wins
For the sake of avoiding a prospect pissing match can we call Kaprizov/Greenway and Lettieri/Poink a wash? NYR fans will think their guys are worth more, and Wild fans will think the same about theirs. None of them have proven anything at the NHL level.
The 5th's about cancel each other out (it's all a crap shoot that late in the draft). Retained on Ennis and McD are also a wash.
So Brodin for McD, and Ennis+3rd for Holland?
As a Wild fan I'd rather have the extra years of Brodin over the McD upgrade to the 2nd pair in MN. Holland is just 6/7D (same as Prosser already on the team). It would be nice to free up the Ennis cap space, but a buyout after the season works too, and the Wild can keep their 3rd.
