<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>I see your point completely, but......

I look at this aging core, and then ask, is it time to take a step back and retool a little then? Table Kreji as a rental? Do you move Marchand? Or, do you sign a Vatanen to a 1 year deal and take one last kick at the can?

See this team very much at a cross roads now. And it seems Sweeney is sitting in the fence.</div></div>

I think the point is very clear from Sweeney is they want to continue a smooth direction with this team. They don't want to panic and acquire a RHD Vatanen just to give a last little push (in reality Vatanen isn't exactly a fantastic player). They have confidence in these young players and we just gotta take their word for now. There's gonna be mistakes. They will mess up, it's just gonna happen and we need to expect that. Considering their limited experience, they need to adjust to the NHL. BUT the staff riding these young dmen tells me that they fully believe that one or two of these guys will be capable of filling the void.

I see why fans want a little last push. Because in reality, this is probably the last season where they're labeled as contenders. This team doesn't make last pushes in the offseason. They make pushes at the deadline. Rick Nash, Charlie Coyle, Marcus Johansson, Ondrej Kase. It is very evident that they want to evaluate their roster from what they have and at the deadline, you address any need you need to make. Obviously right now, top 4 LHD is the wildcard. If no one can fill that void, then you make a move. That's the push

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>He looked like he belong in those 4 games and he was making plays. Could he have cooled (I'm sure he would have), but his play was good enough to keep him in the line-up. I think the team like Kuhlman as a extra forward. Better to have Seny getting regular minutes in the AHL vs 10 minutes every 4-5 games. As for who he need to "outplay" its Wagner &amp; Kuhlman. Fully healthy this team down the right side is a trio of Pasta, Smith and Kase. For Studnicka to stick he'll need to be significantly better than Kase because Studnicka doesn't require waivers. So really the only spot for Seny to take over is the #4RW, which was Wags spot last year.</div></div>

Pasta is going to miss time, about 10 games minimum. That's a hole in the lineup that is up for grabs at the start of the year. So yes, Senyshyn is going to have to beat out Studnicka to get regular time in that void. As for when Pasta returns, yes Wagner and Kuhlman are the main comp in a way. But the narrative of Studnicka needing to beat out Kase is bonkers. If Studnicka is good enough, he'll stay. I understand he doesn't require waivers, but if you have a talent that's good enough, he'll find his way in the lineup somehow.

I think we all get the idea that Senyshyn is going to have to earn a bottom 6 role with this team, however this team really has a jam with bottom 6 players,
Sean Kuraly, Chris Wagner, Anders Bjork, Nick Ritchie, Kase/Smith, Frederic, Kuhlman. Senyshyn will get his final shot, I just don't think he's so guaranteed to be an NHLer as some make him out to be. I want him to earn his chance, not just given an opportunity only because he was a #15 pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Solid. I agree for the most part. I would put Studnicka in the top category. I’ve never seen anything bad out of his game. It’s not necessarily the sexy stuff that gets guys in the top ten lists, but hes got an all around quality to his game.

Lauzon is tough to qualify. He just looks like an NHLer at this point, so I’m not even sure I would have him in this category.
Zboril is another tough one to judge. I think he’s a lock as an NHL caliber player, and he probably would have been in the league a year earlier were it not for Bostons depth. Taht said if he had a high ceiling, he probably would have forced his way into the lineup right now. Probbaly in your RW category.
Senyshyn is in kind of a similar spot. He’ll play in the NHL, but i think he’ll suck. I think he’ll have a Seth Griffith like career.
Wouldn’t have kuhlman as a prospect. Just a crappy NHL depth player.
I personally think Ahcan is nothing.</div></div>

Studnicka is very good so honestly, I wouldn't argue if some have him on their tier 1.
I need to see it to believe Zboril as a regular- like I've noted, I was never that sold on him in any of his games whether it was pre-season or regular season.
Senyshyn is..yeah we'll see
Actually didn't even notice I put Kuhlman on here, but I guess in my view he'll be a consistent scratch for most NHL teams. Just depth, not a regular
Time will tell with Ahcan, I watched a lot of clips on him and he's very interesting. Obviously size is the only thing that really may stop him, but he's got some good skill
