Ducks 10 2024-25
Welcome back after your long hiatus!
This is a pretty good idea of what our best possible off-season would look like: draft Levshunov, sign Gauthier, land a productive free-agent forward. But I think that you have a lot of the players in the wrong places:
Zegras -- Carlsson -- Terry, Vatrano -- McTavish -- Marchessault (more on him below), Vatrano -- Gauthier -- Strome is how I would line them up. And Mintyukov shouldn't play on his off side.
I'm a little dubious about Marchessault. If we're going to invest heavily in a free agent, I'd like it to be someone a little younger.
Corey Schueneman for San Diego is a sly touch.
Go Ducks! :rockon

Completely agree for the Hakanpaa part</div></div>
Coyotes have 100 2nd round picks. Debrusk will probably be better than most of the 2nd rounders they select.

Ritchie, maybe. That really depends on the contract. If he wants some absurd amount Seattle won't be taking him.
The 2nd is Frederic. only because they hope he can develop into something more. Personally that's who I think they take.</div></div>
Woof. You’re just bad take central aren’t ya pal?

The Bruins keep the pick MIN used to select Kaprizov and I can 100% guarantee you they don't take him. Bruins took 2 Russians (one never came to NA) from the 2007-2017 drafts and they would probably have turned him into a two-way 3rd liner rather than elite player. So Smith. Should have proposed Rinaldo or Seguin.

Imagine ignoring the worlds 4th or whatever largest hockey player market cause of some arbitrary strategy or a few bad experiences. We can still say they should've kept the pick, picked Kaprizov and done sort of what Minnesota did, if not sign him earlier.</div></div>
They would probably have drafted a future career AHLer with the pick. If it was round 1 or 2, yes. But after that, you have like 10/350 chance to get a star.
I'm not saying I wouldn't have taken Kaprizov, I'm saying the Bruins wouldn't have selected him.

RItchie is the guy IMO. He's been on the 4th line since Hall's arrival and the only reason he is still in the lineup is because A) he's a big body B) Debrusk has been worse.
There is a sneaky chance that Kuhlman gets taken. He has shown some real flashes. Maybe they trade him to get them to take Zboril over Lauzon.</div></div>
They have to protect Coyle. NMC. Unless he waives. Highly doubt he does.

For John Moore- I think you can just buy him out. The cap penalty isn't that bad if they choose to go that route. Don't think anyone wants John Moore</div></div>
Moore is injured. Cant buyout injured players. Will not be healthy at the buyout window.

He's the second best LD on the team behind Gryz, he moves the puck, gets shots on net. He's got 4 assists in 6 games for Boston. He's one of 4 defensemen league wide that have 18+ even strength assists. I don't see why he wouldn't be in the long term plans

I think where it gets interesting is if he sticks in buffalo until his no trade protection kicks in. At that point, he would have some say in his destination, and he could really put buffalo in a bad spot.

I think this is near perfect. The one thing i would say is i think you should move fox to where Keller is, and then flip Keller and chychrun. There’s no question that chychrun is the best player for the yotes out of this draft. He’s a beast.

Major trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabresspoonz3737</b></div><div>mcavoy and pasta for eichel is not nearly enough for eichel</div></div>
Alright. Well, sheesh. Is there any talking to you on this? Should i bother trying? I’ll give it one shot.
There is just no debate that pastrnak is the superior player. I’ll leave McAvoy out of this because defensemen compared to forwards is hard, but I think if you tried to do some digging, you would struggle to find a way to argue that eichel is a batter player other than, “ohhhh but he’s a center.” Well, he’s not exactly a defensive prodigy so I’m throwing that one out.
Since entering the league Eichel is under a point per game. Pastrnak over.
One of these two players lead the league in goals last season. It wasn’t eichel.
Eichel is like 25th or something in points per game since entering the league. Pastrnaks far ahead of that, and what’s kind of funny to me is that everyone ahead of eichel has a positive +/-. A flawed stat to be sure, but eichel being -66 is kind of eye opening.
Ohhhh but pastrnak has better linemates! That’s the next argument right? Eichel gets more ice time. More opportunity. Points per 60? Not great. He’s 98th, and actually behind Jake Debrusk. Pastrnak is 8th.
Eichel is a heck of a player, any team would love to have him, but man...you’ve gotta look at what he is. He’s not McDavid. If he was as good as you think he is, the Sabres wouldn’t suck. The Sabres suck, and they’ve sucked every second he’s been there.

A very strong argument could be made that both mcavoy and pastrnak individually have more value than eichel.
You think they bruins want to trade them? Logic would dictate that buffalo would have more reason to move eichel than boston would have to move mcavoy or pastrnak.

They've played well but you are not winning with 3/6 third pair D, especially rookies. Zboril has had a good start but he's been sheltered. Lauzon isn't a 1st pair D, he's been okay while being carried by McAvoy. Clifton has been fine but he should be on the third pair as RD. Trade for an established top4 D if you really want the Cup.
