No chance the Stars get anything close to that for Faksa - they'll probably have to give a team a 2nd round pick to take him, and they are better off just not doing the first trade.

I feel like Seguin is going to have a better year this year now that they have an actual top 6 linemate for him in Marchment. People forget that last year Bowness had Seguin with Glendening and Peterson/Benn for a chunk of the year, and he was coming off very serious hip, knee, and ankle injuries and still put up 25g and 50pts. Also cant really have two guys making 9.5m+ on the third line.

Robo will most likely sign a long term deal worth somewhere between 7.5-8.5m per year. If he signs a bridge deal it will probably be worth between 6-7m per year. For Oettinger, it makes the most sense to deal a bridge deal so 2-3 years at somewhere between 3.5-4.5m per year.

Hintz will, if he already isn't, be a top 15 center in the NHL who is elite at both ends of the ice. A second line winger (who is 2 years away from UFA), second pairing defenseman, and a first or second round pick for a young 1C is a good starting point. Look at what Tkachuk got Calgary. Not saying that Hintz is Tkachuk but the return would be in the same ballpark. Huby>Vrana, Weegar>Hronek so honestly Detroit may need to throw in a mid-level prospect. Either way don't think this trade really makes sense for either team in the short term

I think Stankoven is the furthest of the three big prospect from being NHL ready. I feel like Bourque or Johnston will get a shot this year and Stankoven will get his opportunity next year.

8M/year will be the around the AAV he gets on a long term deal, if its a bridge deal like proposed here the AAV will prob be around 6-7m.

No point in Dallas doing that trade. They just re-signed Wedgewood and the difference between him and Comrie isn't worth a 3rd, especially for a backup when Otter is probably gonna play 60ish games. Comrie is also more expensive

Maybe it could be Hronek, Vrana and a 2nd but still no real reason for the Wings to do it either because y'alls top 6 is deep now

Cap dumps and a first round pick is not nearly enough to get Kane. And no chance that Suter waives his NMC to go to Chicago. If Robo signs a bridge deal it will be in the 5.5-7m range. Marchment on the 3rd line? Kessel at C? I don't think Kessel has ever played C in his NHL career, and they didn't give Marchment that contract to play in their bottom 6. Also if they do move Dobby, they won't be getting a third rounder in return unless they are sending a 2nd with Dobby. Something like Khudobin and 3rd for a 6th or Dobby and a 4th for future considerations are probably along the lines of what a dobby trade would look like, should they trade him.

I watch almost all of the Stars games, Hakanpaa might play 18 minutes but that was mostly because of Bowness, and his affinity towards defensive hockey. Ideally Hakanpaa is on your third pair. I think a 1 for 1 swap would make sense value and roster wise, but if you are going to include a prospect to sweeten the deal I don't see the need to include one of Robertson's caliber.

Stars gladly accept. I don't think this trade makes a ton of sense for the Leafs. Hakanpaa is pretty similar to Holl just with less offense so including Robertson is probably an overpay. I feel like the leafs would be better off using Robertson as part of a package to get someone more useful than a third pairing defenseman

I know it's a minimal trade and it doesn't really matter but what's the point of Dallas doing that trade? They can just sign a Mackey type defenseman for the AHL in free agency and keep the 4th round pick

I think Kivi should be the odd man out, not Glenny. And hopefully they trade Faksa so one of Bourque/Johnston can get a shot.

I was thinking that Robo would get that kind of contract too just based on how they've been compared to each other and their careers in the NHL thus far, but let's be honest, Kaprizov is just better than Robertson. He's got more points, the calder, and had the leverage of going back to the KHL when he was negotiating the extension, so I think based on that, Robertson is more in the neighborhood of 8x8, similar to what Robert Thomas got. I personally feel like Robertson (just going off his personality in the media and whatnot) is less about the money and more about the team so might not care to sign for a little less if it means using that extra money to acquire/sign new players

Unless they do a bridge deal and then somehow find a way to move either Benn or Seguins contract within the next year. Also need to sign hintz next year</div></div>
Dallas definitely has enough money for a long-term deal with Robo. He'll most likely get 8x8ish and even with Otter's extension they'll be able to afford it without making any trades, but if they have to they can move Khudobin to LTIR or trade him, or trade Faksa. Also this return makes absolutely zero sense for Dallas. They have enough defenseman and Newhook isn't quite established enough yet to fetch a player like Robo. I highly doubt the Stars trade him especially now that Tkachuk is off the market, but if they do decide to, the return will be similar to what Tkachuk got: Top line player, another good roster player/high prospect, and 1st rounder, not a second pairing defenseman and a middle six forward.

Stars with Kane
Honestly if that's what it Takes to get Kane, I hope they pass. Save those assets for a younger player that has more term and similar or less cap hit than Kane at 50%, Kane's obviously a great player but giving up all that for 2 months (assuming deadline trade) of him seems a bit steep. I don't think he's enough to put the Stars over the edge, especially if they don't address their defense.

You have a enough space to keep Benn, and while yes he isn't the player he once was, he will still have a bigger impact than the third round pick. Might as well just keep him in this scenario since you aren't really using that new cap space to sign or trade for anyone else.
