What would the Flames give up for Tij Iginla
Personally, I take Iginla over allowing another team to take him. Imagine a top 6 with 3 powerforwards (Slaf, Iginla and Roy), a sniper (Caufield) and 2 very good play makers (Suzuki and Dach) plus a top 4 of Guhle-Maillouc, Hutson-Reinbacher, is that really worth passing up for a late pick?

So unless Montreal gets comfortable with the idea of sending 1 of their 3 roster players of interest back in return, the Habs aren’t getting Necas.</div></div>
That's likely what you don't want, but expect an offer like that for a player like Necas. I'm sure that you don't really know who is Mesar.
And just looks what I wrote for the Canes, they can use that to make an offer for a player like Buchnevich.
And when you talking about one of their three roster players, who they are ?

He thinks he is getting one of Caufield, Suzuki or Slaf + a 1st for Necas. It's really not worth talking to Canes fans about cause they take delusional to a whole new unforseen level

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>The notion that the Canes will have a hard time signing Necas is so untrue it’s funny. They have the cap space to comfortably sign Jarvis, Guentzel, and Necas to long term extensions if they want to.
That being said, unless a team is giving up actual quality pieces, Canes aren’t moving Necas. That proposal simply isn’t enough.</div></div>
Sure you can sign all of Guntzel, Necas and Jarvis quite easily but all are getting in the 7.5-10 mil range so let's say 8 for Guntzel, 7.5 for Necas and 9 for Jarvis that's 24.5 of your 30 mil. How are you resigning Teravainen, Pesce and Skeji? You won't might be able to sign 1 of them for the 5.5 mil left over bit not all of them and to top it off you still need to sign 3 D men since Pesce, Skeji and ADA are all FA's. Not so easy now is it?

If Winnipeg's 1st is in play, they'd be looking at a much better player than Monahan.</div></div>
He's on pace for 60 points and is over 55% on the draw. for less than a million against the cap after retention. He's the perfect rental for a contender. a late first is the floor. Think of who has gotten a first at previous deadlines. "4th line depth" lmao

Comparing a career high 60 point, injury prone, trickshot specialist to Hart trophy winners in Kane and Ovechkin is certainly a take.

Maybe because we are actually capable to have a return like this for players🙄
Toffoli got us a 1st + 2nd ++ Chiarot got us a 1st ++ Romanov got us a 1st ( Dach ) Kulak got us a 2nd ++ ( we got one of the best player in the draft with this pick Hutson ) Monahan got us a 1st and we might get another one..

He’s still relatively young and has been playing great. Kind of like Logan Thompson. We’re taking on Ceci for 2 more years and helping edm Clear about 3M in cap space. Its reported that NO TEAM is willing to help EDM but we are doing them a big favour. If you think about it my trade isn’t that crazy.</div></div>

Wagon
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>"Took them to the shootout"
Bruh, I watched the highlights, half the regulation goals for the Habs were because Aiden Hill whiffed a puck straight to Monahan, and proceeded to <strong>YEET</strong> himself out of the way so that Monahan had an empty net to shoot at from 20 feet out. Luck took the habs to the shootout, not because they kept up with Vegas.</div></div>
So you saw 2 minutes worth of game highlights and <strong>think</strong> you know how the game was played?! You're an a** clown if you are being serious! Habs totally took over the game after the Knights scored their 2nd goal, yes Hill took himself out of the play when Monahan scored but what that 30 second clip doesn't show is what lead to him taking himself out of the play. Habs were taking the play to Vegas all night forcing Hill to try to make plays on his own. Habs only allowed 13 shots (2 in the second, 5 in the 3rd and 6 in OT) after the 1st, won 60% of the faceoffs and forced the Knights to block another 18 shots in the game. Sorry if it is just too much for you to comprehend but the Habs absolutely dominated this game, they made the Knights look like a peewee team and if not for Hill playing absolutely lights out, they probably wouldn't have even gotten to OT.

I don’t think it’s going to be a major asset but MIN 3rd should be the maximum to pay. We don’t really have any reason to pay to dump him since we can bury him in the AHL

Sparking the Oilers
If Monahan does get dealt, people will be very surprised at the return. Personally, they should resign him, people misunderstand his play right now as they think this is Sean Monahan from the last 2 years in Calgary. Before the injury last season many GMs inquired around November.
Reminds me a lot of the Lehkonen returns and Justin Barron being mentioned and Avs fans, of course, laughed it off and were dead wrong. Same as Oilers fans with Kulak whom was 'garbage'
It doesnt matter what you post, homers are going to homer. I had a whole thread with Kulak, Lehkonen and Chiarot going for less then they returned in reality and had nothing but toxity and negative comments. Par for the course here.

This isn't close; Kovacevic is by far the most valuable piece from Montreal's perspective. If the players you're trading away have value on the market, Ottawa should trade them to the teams that would value them.

I disagree that the Canucks pass, unless Beoser has a huge year which I don't expect he will. Canucks have been trying to move his contract for awhile and were unable to. If they can pull a young physical RD in Barron as part of the package while saving a few million in cap then I think they make that deal, even if they have to take Amria.

I think the Laffy trade is definitely a possibility by this point, especially in this not breaking out scenario. I like the two younger players coming back (might tweak it a bit).
I wouldn't go for Boeser if I'm MTL, especially if they trade for Laffy.

Laf needs to get out of NYC in the worst way. The pressure must be enormous, especially with the win-now culture.
