Johnson was fine last year. Colorado would rather let him finish out his contract in Denver than waste a 1st to get rid of him.

a 2019 3rd at LD (which is already overcrowded in Ottawa) plus an early 2nd doesnt move you from 26th to 7th. Josh Anderson's contract doesnt look good either, dont even think he'd be positive value for MTL to throw in.
Hard pass.

Horrible deal for Edmonton. Allen is a quality back up not what the oilers are looking for.

Winning the Cup
If Puljujarvi's willing to sign 1 year at $2.5m, I'd rather just keep him as he'd be an RFA at the end of that contract, which is worth more than Kerfoot who will be UFA at the end of next year.
That said, if Puljujarvi is willing to sign for 4 years at $2.5m as you've listed, I'm thinking you'd have to throw in more for Edmonton to move him.

Are you suggesting can do better than barrie threw waivers? That might be the most illogical statement made on this site

Oil change
I'd rather Barrie over soucy really think it's baffling how often see that trade. Why not just sign kulak for the left side and keep Barrie so not expecting a rookie to play his offside? Personally would rather jp over brown as well plays better in my opinion against tougher competition.

Edmonton declines. They have no interest in Allen and aren't giving up a 1st to move useful - if overpaid - players.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Not so sure about that, Savard is cheaper, a much better defender and with Bouchard that have taken the lead offensively Edmonton could benefits to have a solid shutdown defenseman. Barrie have elite offensive upside but defensively he doesn’t show up very often. In a very tight cap era 1.1 millions can be huge. But that being said, it doesn’t fix your goaltending problem. That the biggest issue Holland will have this offseason.</div></div>
I agree, I don't hate this trade but I feel like a barrie trade should clear more cap. Maybe for a guy like Hakanpaa or even just for picks to sign someone in FA.

Wouldn’t do Niemelianen 1-1 for risto. Not that I think low of risto but having that big body on the left side has really been a huge lift for the oilers. Then factor in the cap aspect I don’t think it’s a fit at all.

I could see the Flyers asking for the 4th round pick to be upgraded to a 3rd because of the expense. Ultimately, they should be happy to get a draft pick and getting to see a veteran center like Turris play with some young players.

Or one of Keith, Barrie or Ceci (LMFAO)? They also need to sign a bunch of RFAs however but I think that they will actually get their act together... or so I hope</div></div>
The Koskinen money is already spent. They aren't moving Keith or Ceci (they've been very good for the Oilers most of the season) and if they move Barrie they'll need to sign someone to replace him as there aren't any obvious internal replacements on the farm. Besides signing RFAs they may need to spend more money on goaltending too, depending on Smith's health and how Skinner doing. I simply don't see where they'll come up with $7M+ for Boeser on a long-term deal.

A nothing NCAA defenceman and a third round pick probably doesn't get you one of the more productive defensemen in the league.
I don't think the ask of some Oilers fans has been reasonable but a roster piece and a third round pick is fine value; de-value the pick depending on the roster piece in question.

You mean he didn't enjoy it when we ran him out of town with torches and pitchforks after the 2017 playoffs? Can't imagine why he wouldn't want to experience that again.

At this point I'd do Yamo for DeBrusk 1 for 1 if a contract below his QO was worked out before hand.
Not trading a 2nd for Korpisalo. He'll be an option in free agency if (when) we get desperate.
Yes to Jarnkrok

I don't think Edmonton would be interested in another #6-7 D, especially not at that price. More forward depth would be fine though, so I'd trade a couple of late late picks for Perreault and Paquette. Leave Wideman out please.

another offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Petey232323</b></div><div>I'm not sure I agree, tbh.
Using Evolving Hockey's RAPM stats (19-22 (including this year)) Yamamoto has: 0.016 xG +/- (0.035 xGF/0.019 xGA) and DeBrusk has: 0.107 xG +/- (0.072 xGF/-0.035 xGA)
and Using TopDownHockey's WAR Yamamoto is in the top 68% of players (inflated by his finishing) while DeBrusk is a top 78 percentile player (also sort of carried by finishing but he drives offense better)</div></div>
Neither guy drives offense. But Yamamoto is useful even when he's not scoring, whereas DeBrusk gets healthy scratched if he's not scoring. Oh, and he's WILDLY overpayed.
