Ottawa wouldn't trade Zub for Chychrun, they want to reinforce the defence, not make a lateral move in way (yes ik Chychrun is better, but Zub is valuable on defence for the sens)

Idk, I could definitly see the team trading Weegar or one of their defenders, but not for picks or prospects, but rather a top 6 forward since they have 9 defenders but only 9 forwards

Deal on the Zaistev trade, although Kessel, Chiasson are not really neded, there's Joseph and <em>Formenton?</em> (still no clue what's up with him and batherson yet) and not a fan of offering the 5 year deal for Klingberg

I think hes going to be the 4th line center this season and gambrell would be scratched

I think out of all your defensemen, Kylington isn't on the top of the sens list for defensemen, Sens would rather want either Weegar, Tanev or Andersson, but I understand if the flames wouldn't trade anyone of these 3 mentioned

although Foegle, a 4th and 2nd seems like a fair value, I think Ottawa would like to keep Kastellic

Would this be enough for Girard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hitagi_Senpai</b></div><div>Avs want more.</div></div>
What would ottawa need to add more to get him? Cuz my thought process is that Avs have been rumoured to try and move him, but they aren't in rush to do so. but at the same time, I feel like Kadri wants to come back to the avs after going to the market, and i feel the feeling is mutual from the avs. However, they can't give him the money he wants since the avs need to sign Mackinnon to his new contract next szn, so they should try and move salary and I think Girard is the perfect candidate to being trade if they go for Kadri. Whgich could put the avs in a desperate situation of getting rid of him

Sadly he won't do it since he hasn't really been an established top 4 defensemen, plus he plays on the left side, and the sens are looking for the right side of defense

I think this could be beneficary for both teams, the avs get asset and a young defender who can replace Manson in the long run, and cap space to sign Kadri for Girard, and the sens get their top 4 defender they desperately need

Plus ottawa is not interested in him, they would be interested in one of your defensemen (tanev, weegar, andersson) if you are willing to trade one out

Don't think that deal makes any sense for the flames, they lose a good top 4 defenseman for a top 9 player who probably peaked already

whos there left for the top 4 D
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>I mean Makar is under 6’ as well, but regardless, Girard would be our only small guy. You can have one, maybe two, and be fine imo. Chabot, Sanderson, Zub, Kleven, JBD, Thomson can fill out the long term lineup with plenty of size. I think that if we bring in a top 4 D, the expectation should be playoffs, and DJ might be gone if we fall short of that. If we don’t get another top 4 D or face a bunch of major injuries again then maybe he has a longer leash.</div></div>
ngl, i forgot Makar was 5'11, the way he plays makes you think he's a 6'0 foot player, but I guess that debunks my theory. The expectations this year has to be playoffs or at least be in the race for it at the end of the season, and if we aren't achieving either, DJ is long gone, esp if Dorion gets him that top 4 D

whos there left for the top 4 D
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>If DJ can’t work with anyone under 6’1” then DJ won’t be working for the Sens for long lol. I’m personally of the opinion that we’re probably gonna have a new coach when we enter our window, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone in the next season or two, and Girard is good enough that if you can get him for an affordable price in terms of assets then you should definitely do that.</div></div>
I think, there is <em>some</em> truth to having a bit of size on defense in order to be successful in the playoffs, if we look at the last few cup winners, they almost all had defenders over 6'0 atleast, only exception was the avs with Girard, but he only played like 7 games cuz of injuries, so he wasnt as effective this playoffs. As for DJ, I still could see him lead us into our winning window, the players seem to like him and they really love to play for him and he makes sure everyone gives their best effort out on the ice. Now is he a great coach, prob not, but he is still a young one who can and prob has learned alot along the way. Only way i see him gone is if the team has a shambolic start that can't be attributed to smth else (i.e covid or injuries)
