When a team is still in building phase.. which Buffalo is .. you focus on 1 to 2 things .. not balance .. it's obvious there focus is on speed and more offense.. as it should be .. That is why this deal is possible .. getting a Sergachev or Gourde or draft picks.. a 2 for 1 let's say .. is exactly what Buffalo should do as Buffalo still 2 to 3 years away from relevance

I wouldn't say their defense would be worse. You don't have a -123 +/- for your career on accident. I wouldn't trade him for J T Miller. A 30 goal scorer, Tatar or Zucker, sure. Don't have many of those floating around...

Apparently RD defnesemen of Risto's calibre grow on trees now ... he's highly overrated. He's terrible in his own end. You can find plenty of those kinda right handed defensemen. You just traded for one in Montour
