ANA: All these guys want for Christmas is a bounce back from Gibson and Zegras to establish himself as a top6 player this year if he makes the NHL. Another higher pick in 2021 wouldn't bad if things don't pan out but the clocks ticking on Gibson and company to turn the ship around.
ARI: To fix the mess that they're in. Finally making the playoffs to be being in a terrible position as a franchise doesn't leave this team with many options. All we can wish for is another playoff run and Hayton to establish himself as key player for this teams offence.
BOS: A cup run is ideal but there's things that need to happen for this to work. All the bruins want for Christmas is Vaak and Studnicka to step for this team when they're needed most now. Plus some goaltending from Rask and a healthy recovery for their stars would be a dream come true.
BUF: All the Sabres want for Christmas is a stable run for the playoffs this year. A consistent year and bounce back for Skinner would be ideal and Cozens stepping up would make the Sabres top 6 a wish come true.
CAL: Other than winning all the battle of Alberta's in the coming year, the Flames desire Gaudreau and Monahan to take the reins and really show they are the stars of this team otherwise the Flames will never succeed. Markstrom alone was a gift to the team so the boys stepping up would be the cherry on top.
CAR: Carolina prays for a goalie to step up and lead this team (or acquire one if plan A fails).
CHI: Dach to win gold and a little bit of lottery luck for first overall. Maybe for Bowman to establish a good base for the rebuild would be the most important wish though.
COL: Having Makar take the next step and helping Mackinnon hoist the cup would be all the Av's need seeing as this team already stole all the presents this year and are primed for a wild ride to the finals if Grubauer can stay healthy.
CBJ: Having both the stellar goaltending performances continue from Elvis and Korpi. A well build team in front of them has already been put in place, having the two kids hold down the fort in net puts CBJ in the position to make another playoff run.
DAL: Having Kiviranta be a consistent regular for the team would be amazing for a team who saw his abilities in the playoffs. Having both goalies healthy and performing to their expectations would be a wish come true (were looking at you Bishop).
DET: Getting some wins on the board this year would be a great step for this team to develop that winning culture/ mentality. Detroit is a few pieces away from turning the ship around - another high pick with a little lottery luck will go a long way for a team with a lot of potential as their GM knows how to build a super team.
EDM: Finally seeing Jesse Puljujarvi establish himself as an NHL player would be the best gift of all. Being a 3rd line scorer would be great but becoming a legit top 6 threat would be a Christmas miracle. Also wishing Klefbom a healthy recovery.
FLO: Bob actually playing good/ the expected play of a 10 mil goalie.
LA: While this team could be a sleeper for a wildcard contender, another high pick would be a fitting piece to top off an already successful rebuild of hoarding quality prospects. Vilardi becoming a Calder finalist would also go a long way for this team.
MIN: For Rossi to show everyone that he should not have fallen so far (while he may not play in the NHL, this can still be accomplished wherever he plays).
MTL: For Josh Anderson to pan out and for Romanov to prove his hype was deserving.
NSH: For their stars to step up and rebound from some tough years. Additionally to see Saros grow into a full time starter that can lead this team, he's been close in the past but if neither happens now we could see this team becoming sellers by TDL for the first time in a long time.
NJD: For Hughes to become a star like we thought he would become and for Blackwood to continue building his career into a full time starter.
NYI: For Sorokin to take lead of this team and give them a true starter. Also seeing a team friendly Barzal contract with term would be a blessing.
NYR: Laf becoming a star and Kakko having a good year would be a dream for a team with aspirations of finishing a rebuild. The team has the potential to make the playoffs but they have to put it all together.
OTT: Ottawa's one wish would've been to not have a Canadian Division. Since that's literally impossible, Ottawa hopes that Murray gives them the gift of not becoming a terrible contract. Some nice years from kids like Norris and Batherson with a healthy Stutzle would be a great gift for Ottawa fans who have suffered through a messy rebuild. There is some light shining at the end of the tunnel, we just have hope that everything goes according to Mr. Melnyks plan...
PHI: For Nolans sake and everyone a fan of hockey or the flyers, a healthy recovery for the kid would be a gift to everyone, mainly Nolan. A team with an incredibly bright future - the only ask is a small one, Patrick getting a shot at an NHL career.
PIT: Dreaming that all GMJR's moves pay off. The clocks ticking on the Penguins as no one defeats father time. An aging core is scary but anyone named Malkin and Crosby shouldnt be counted out, this team still can win one more.
SJS: Probably the longest list in the NHL, but lets shorten it. All the Sharks can wish for is for Meier and Labanc to become the leaders of this team offensively and for Jones to take advantage of the third go. They say the third time is the charm but Jones has been giving the longest leash possible - he has to realize there is no room for error. Also Merkley proving his worth would be nice if all else fails.
STL: For Krug to make losing their captain worth it. Seeing Binner prove he is not a one hit wonder would be ideal too.
TBL: Some god damn cap space.. they've already wished for a luxury cap but that can't be fulfilled. Not even Santa knows what to give these guys.
TOR: Toronto dreams of Andersen leading this team and the kids to become more than they already are. Getting Brodie was already a gift for this team so now all they can ask for is some consistent play and the team to become.. well.. a team and play as one (like CBJ, not salt in the wound but it showed them playing as a entire unit is enough to beat talent. Toronto has the talent now they just need become a team (as a whole).
VAN: For Holtby and Demko to pan out and make losing Markstrom not as bad. Next would be to see Elias and Hughes extend/ sign sooner rather than later as this team has some money to dish out soon.
VGK: Someone to save them from cap hell. There's a few options to fix their situation but hopefully they make the right choice (moving Fleury or Patches, or a player trade to find cap relief).
WSH: To find a suitable backup goalie and for Ilya to show the team doesn't need one as bad as we think.
WPG: For Laine to finally grow into his own and be a star goal scorer. Perfetti making teams regret him falling would be amazing too.
SEA: For someone to make some dumb moves like Florida did last expansion.
