Description
Chicago fans - Hold off on the negative comments, I just used them since they have space, and are looking to older players to surround Bedard and show him the ropes. They could send Armia anywhere and pay a bit, but I figure that Chicago may want a bit less in terms of picks since they have a plethora of them in the first two rounds for the next three years. Armia will be gone after next year, just in time to start dishing out more contracts to star players.

Ottawa fans - Gotta pick and chose here, Pinto or another player? I'm just thinking that switching Joseph for Ylönen doesn't change much other than lots of cap space for Ottawa to get the deal signed for Pinto. They get a potential 5th or 6th Defense man in Barron as an extra value, but will need to pay a 1st to trade for the two players, salary dump and get picks in return.

After these moves, Habs will then need to trade out some players for late round picks like Pezzetta, Lindström, Mesar, Beck, Mysak, DVorak and Wideman (if they can..), then figure out if Monahan is a keeper or a piece for a top 3 rounds pick whatever his value becomes at TDL.

Habs will need picks, lots of them like ARZ and Chicago have done. Have a full out rebuild before Suzuki and Caufield's time expire.
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Joseph, Mathieu
  2. 2024 1st round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Habs get Detroit's first*
Ottawa get 2 good 3rd round picks in return plus Ylönen and Barron.

*Protected top 5; if so then Ottawa provides later pick between Detroit's and Ottawa's 1st.
OTT
  1. Barron, Justin
  2. Ylönen, Jesse
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (MIN)
  4. 2025 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Ylönen provide a 4th liner for 2.2M$ less which provides Ottawa with more cash to sign Pinto, and have some space for injury call-ups.

Barron bring in size and a development player able to send to AHL and help grow into a full time NHL'er. Habs have many D right now, so they can pay this price.

    Future considerations
    CHI
    1. Armia, Joel
    2. 2024 5th round pick (SJS)
    3. 2024 7th round pick (WSH)
    Additional Details:
Just sending to Chicago since they would be the less impacted team, have lots of cap space for the next two years and have a roster spots. But really, send Armia anywhere and pay a bit for future considerations.. Basically a handshake.

Why not just hold onto Armia? MTL isn't going to compete for another 3-4 years and by that time, Armia's contract will be up

If all it took to move Armia out was a 5th and a 7th, don't you think he'd be gone by now?

I actually like how this team proposes Armia takes a 5th and 7th, but Mathieu lands a 1st. It's not even like OTT can take on Ylonen. They're already losing players on waivers.
