That is a dramatic overpay by the Flames. Remove Tkachuk and its still pricey. No way all those picks and players and Tkachuk go.

Calgary isn't going to trade Tkachuk. Trading Bennett is a great possibility.

My guess it Kessel+Sheary+Jarry for Bennet+ Stone+ Parssons+ 1st would be sufficient for sure.

Pens get a 3rd D on right side, potential Sheary replacement on the cheap side. And a goalie prospect with Jarry potential but 3 years young

Call get two scoring wingers and Jarry would be ready eariler if he is going to be a starter than Parssons.

Calgary may do another prospect if they can lower/remove the pick as they really need some picks if they want long term success

I like your proposal but would change the 1st to rights to Adam Fox as I think he is more valuable than a first to the Penguins and a 1st is more valuable to the Flames.

jarry to parsons is a lateral move actually i like jarry better but not enough to call it anything but equal value.

at this point the fact that bennett plays center and his actual draft position , which does not count for much are the only thing separating sheary and bennett. Bennett doesn't look like he will ever reach his potential.

that leaves stone and a first. Stone is a 3rd pairing d nothing else they can be had for cheap. a 4th or 5th round pick that leaves the 1st which with kessel added to the flames and mike smith healthy will most likely be around 17-21 range.
