Ehh. To be honest I wouldn't give up Severson. Especially along with draft pick albeit a late pick for Maatta.

Surprisingly fair, no matter who would do it or not. Severson is more offensive, and Maatta more defensive, which I think works out for both teams.

PIT would have to throw in something better like a 2nd round pick. Severson is better and a RHD, which is more valuable.

I think with the p/u of Add mouth with Jerseys 1st this past draft, Sheri believes they are in better shape on the left side .
Jersey is still 1-2 yrs off from being there.
Butcher will be a vet, Greene will be gone, if Mueller is OK as a second painting with Smith on the horizon maybe we're OK.
Sevs needs to have a better yr but his term, age handiness are all desirable. We let him go it's Vats/Santini/lovejoy
No thanks

Although the value is there, I do not know if the Penguins would want yet another RHD who is more offensive. I think they need for of a shutdown guy on that right side.

Posted basically this exact trade a few days ago minus the pick. I like it and wish it would get done, but for whatever reason the Pens wont move on from Maatta.

Is there a reason why so many Pit fans want to move on from Maatta? Is it his footspeed thats an issue?

he's a solid defensemen tbh. good defensively. good stick and positioning , has or had some offensive upside as well but injuries have slowed his development. but he has scored some big goals for the pens in the playoffs. the only real knock on him is that he is real slow and can be blown past by almost any decent skater. i'm still a fan of maatta but it's also tiresome watching players skate right past him 90% of the time

he is a lot better than people make him seem on here, people get an opinion of one guy and then it sticks. The poor footspeed means when he does get beat it does stand out. I don't think they should be searching for a trade for him but if the right one comes along I wouldn't be opposed to trading him.
