Don't you just the love the overpayment for Muzzin, when we could have gotten a younger, better, way faster and more controllable right-handed D (Brandon Montour) for cheaper.

Making trades for grit's sake results in acquiring Gudbranson, which is a bad move 10 times out of 10.

If Babcock quits playing Hainsey over 16 minutes a night, there's absolutely nothing to worry about with this roster. Beat your boogeyman in Boston, and get steamrolled by Tampa. For either Boston or Toronto, it's the inevitable fate this season.

We didn't overpay for Muzzin tho... And im not fully convinced on Montour anyways. Will be interesting to see what he is like outside of the ANH ****show tho.

I cannot fathom why any team in need of a RHD dman didn't give a better offer than Buffalo's. Absolutely bonkers.

With the Leafs, it probably boiled down to cap constraints into next season. Couldn't find a taker for Zaitsev I guess.

It’s called job security. If Dubus goes out and gets everything and it doesn’t work then you get blamed for failing Now he comes out says we tried the price was to high we believe we are good enough and it buys more time.

Heck of an overpay when you put Muzzin and Montour head to head, then consider that Montour provides you offense and better speed, no question. On top of all that, at the end of all that Montour is an RFA while Muzzin is a UFA. No question.

With Leafs as is I don't think they get past Boston. To me, that's a major fail. He may, or rather, probably won't be fired, but I gotta think his seat is getting hot.

Muzzin has another year, and is better defensively, more physical and yes he does provide offence so....

Muzzin is not better defensively and does not provide the sort of offense Montour has provided. Yes, they both have a year left, but Muzzin is then a UFA while Montour is an RFA, so more control there. And remember, Montour is quite a bit younger. So BS to you buddy smile

I agree with you that he should have traded and I don’t see them getting past Boston. Boston and Tampa didn’t do anything either so he won’t look that bad. In there minds they are a head of the plan since the rookies are playing better then they thought. They pickup Muzzin so it looks like he tried.

You clearly seem like you are one of the many leaf fans that wanted to resign JvR, Bozak and Komarov cause you're "die hard". Please sit down and relax.

not really. Our big move was Muzzin. Most of us knew there might only be a depth move or two. Im perfectly happy with this deadline.

There’s nothing to cry about. You knew there weren’t going to be any more trades. One he said he didn’t want to move anyone from the roster so not sure what you are going to trade. Two the kids haven’t taken any discounts so the salary cap is an issue.

Boston got better with Coyle and Johansson. Tampa really didn't need to do anything.

Again there is this fascination about grid and RHD. The question should could McQuaid displace any Leafs on the top six. Although the Leafs probably got have got him for a third which was probably would have been a good move by the Leafs. Montour hasn't played well this year apparently......Yes I know that the Ducks have all these all star Dmen that are so much better than the Leafs, which is why the Ducks are on top of the Pacific. The first round....not sure if it's Sabres and Blues, but will be a better pick for Ducks which probably one reason the Ducks didn't want the Leafs pick.

They are sold pickups. I wouldn’t say they are stone or Duchene

no jvr, bozak and komarov needed to go they just wanted way to much and tavares is better but our d has two guys who cant defend (gardiner and zaitsev) and no forward who has hit someone or gotten hit without getting up slow

Tampa's been jammed in cruise control all season and they're 6.5 wins above the next closest team in the league. They aren't playing for a President's Trophy. They ate the East alive last season and ran into Holtby at his hottest. You're out of your mind if you don't have them penciled in as the team coming out of the East (biases aside).

the pick is more than likely gonna be san jose first round pick the sabres pick was never in the trade and the leafs pick would be probably earlier if not the pick after san lose and guhle? hes a b- prospect with top 6 potential leafs could have damn well sent the ducks lindgren, moore and a second and easily gotten him so dont talk unless you understand

leafs are left with nylander having no choice but to get trade. trading depth guys like hyman and brown will help a little but dermott needing a raise after next season and marner needing one this season giving away brown and hyman would not cut it nylander has to go and is quite frankly not worth $7 million aav
