this is what a Kadri for Pesce trade looks like to a Carolina fan.

I imagine most of the Toronto fans are going to balk at this one. Now, Carolina fans...I think you made a bunch of new friends along tobacco road.

If you seriously think this is how bad a pesce for Kadri trade is you need to find another sport to watch, cause you aren't getting anything out of this one.

Kadri for pesce 1 for 1 is terrible but not this bad. Maybe just nylander and 2nd but not kasperi kapanen and the third round pick worth brown

Nylander for Pesce 1-for-1 would be highway robbery by the canes, let alone the Leafs adding in a pick. It would be Hall for Larsson 2.0, and would look awful very, very fast.

Pesce is one of the most overrated players I think I have ever seen, while Nylander (and lately) Kadri are being severely underrated.
He's a good Dman, but not as good as a 1-for-1 with Willy lol.

So would kadri for pesce. Idc what you say but pesces contract is top ten in the league and for his production defensively. This isn’t me saying that as a canes fan but a +35 is insane for anybody. I wouldn’t say it would be a robbery by the canes because nylander is a good player but just because pesce isn’t a 30 assist type of defenseman doesn’t mean he is not good. Pesce is getting paid for his top notch defense and nylander is getting paid for his top notch offense. Defense wins championships and Toronto would save 2 mil too. I personally would say that the pesce for nylander ship has sailed and Carolina wouldn’t except due to pesces playoff preformance

I also never said Kadri for Pesce was a fair trade, or one that should happen.

I never said Pesce was not good, I said he was overrated. He is a fine shut down Dman, and would look great next to Gards or Rielly, but he is a top-4 Dman, while Willy is a 1-2RW with insane transition ability and compatibility with Matthews. Just as an example, here is what Matthews looked like after being re-united with Willy this year. Its unmarked on the graph, but its... obvious.



As I said, Pesce is a good Dman (a top 20 DFD in the league for sure, maybe (MAYBE) a top 10 purely DFD), and the contract is maybe 1M undervalue in aav, but that doesn't add up to a dynamic winger like Nylander lol.

Carolina, especially being the corsi boys, would be fools to not accept a Pesce for Nylander 1-for-1. Remember, the Leafs asked for Slavin when they talked. While I think that would be a bit much (especially after this season), it shows where the hockey world is compared to many of its fans.

I understand what you are saying but I believe that if there was a pesce-nylander trade, 50% of Toronto fans would claim that this was an amazing trade while the other 50% would claim this is a robbery. The 50% that said it was amazing looked at the bright side of things like pesces plus minus/ his contract while the other 5% would look at his point production/offensive ability. It would be a weird day in Toronto as well as on this site because it would be very divided.

I mean, people were divided (especially Leaf fans) about Dubas and the whole JT thing too. Just because they are divided doesn't mean they are right. What people wont tell you, is that over the last 1/4 of Nylander's season, he was producing at a 60 point pace. The graphs I showed you essentially say that the point totals Nylander was putting up are SEVERELY under performing his play.

Look, If a Pesce for Nylander trade happened, we'd be getting a good piece that we really need, in the same way the Oilers got a good piece they really needed. But in the words of Steve dangle...

You showed us that Nylander and Matthews have to play together.

I showed you that Nylander makes Matthews a MUCH better player (not the other way around). I showed you that Nylander outperformed Marner in 5v5 possession and offence generated, as well as defensive metrics, but was extremely unlucky in his results (unlike Marner).

Rather than an indignant response, if you are unsure how to read a graph I post, ask. I am happy to explain it.

Like I said you showed us graphs that say Nylander has to play with Matthews
