Interesting, I like the Chiarot signing.
Trading Kadri for picks, hmm could work if you get a cheap 3C which you did.

Dont know about that Marner deal though.
Not bad

Are you saying that's too much of return for Kadri?

New jersey's first rounder is too valuable for kadri, and the leafs won't be able to find such a good player for such as cheap contract. I don't understand why everyone is saying to trade kadri because he is so valuable to the team and his temperament issue can be resolved by coaches and team mates helping him out by calming him down. Leafs are trying to win now, they are past the point of trading good roster players for picks. Also you are ridiculously underpaying marner

I dont think he has shown he is 30 goal guy as a 3C yet

And is it worth risking not trading Kadri?
What if he gets suspended in the playoffs again, then what?

Kadri isn't going to shoot 3% under average for the rest of his career lol. If he shot his avg % he has nearly 22 goals and if he shot his avg without counting slump years and outliers + playing 82 games he gets around 30

Who else do they trade for cap space though, Kadri seems like one to go and they should be able to get good value back for him.

the problem with kadri is the suspension history. Don't get me started on how dirty boston played that series and refs did nothing. I totally get why he did it. But he's kind of like wilson right now. He does one dumb thing and he'll probably be sitting a long time. Even if it's by accident.

Marner for 2 years....that's not going to happen. I think there is a legit debate on what he's worth and what he'll ask for. 20+ goals is what i see, i don't care if he had 30 or 100 assists.
Anyone can pass the puck to someone who's better at putting it in the net. He is a good defender though and drives possession (for whatever that is worth).
My guess is his value should probably be between 8-9 range. But their GM is bad at negotiating deals, there is pressure there for compensation equal to his other young line mates, and that family is going to be asking for the moon. Should be interesting to see. It won't surprise me one bit if the ask is 11. But I'd be very cautious about handing him 11 million.

You can love Kadri all you want, doesn't mean a thing.
He scored 30 goals playing on the second line but he's no longer playing on that second line.

Anyway, one would think Leafs coaching/management sat down with Kadri after the first suspension and made it clear that smart/winning plays are what is expected moving forward but hey that did not happen.
Guess what? The Bruins are likely opponents in next year's playoffs as well.

Bottom line, trade him while he still has some value because a third suspension means he will likely have less value than at the momment.

On your side here, started to trade him last summer already, where suspension wasnt even in picture and if i remember all the flak i got for that. He just came from two 30 goals Season so that would even bolst the income back. Imagine Dubarelli would hit CAR and Pesce with him at 2018 pre-season...or Manson. Now he slumped back to where he was before in points plus additional suspension on his Player card.....

as a variation, heres one to PHI, based on thread by their fan : https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1180804
