Description

With JP signing in Finland, the pressure is now on for EDM to get return on their investment. In JGP they get a proven 3rd C to put behind McJesus and RNH, and they get a late 2nd to help sell it as not a loss to their fan base.

I kinda like the trade. I think for a contending team it's too much, but for OTT they add a young kid to go with their core for a pending UFA and a 2nd.
If im OTT I probably hold on to JGP until the deadline where his value will most likely be at its peak

what oilers fan came up with this

3rd round pick at best. He has 0 value. He is a head case on top of it who thinks he should get a top 6 role.

There is no pressure on EDM at all, this was the best thing that could happen. He has a good year he increases the trade value which is non-existent right now. They are not paying him. If he sucks ??‍♂️. They aren’t out much. Most they were going to get was a 3rd or another young problem/bust.

Huge overpayment this is, Oilers gladly accept.

There is no pressure on Edmonton in this scenario. Holland will gladly let him play the year in Finland.

Even if OTT gave the DAL 2nd rounder and NOTHING ELSE it would be a gamble. The mere idea of it gives me Rundblad flashbacks.
