It isn't even in the same ballpark. There is no universe where someone should trade Ehlers for Risto.

This would be a mistake by Winnipeg. Buffalo would need to add. I know Ehlers had an off year, but he still put up decent numbers and had his 3rd straight 20 goal season. He's locked up at reasonable rates when you look at what keller got.

Risto is worth 5 1sts in BUF eyes and a single 7th in everyone else's...Risto won't get a great return unless he decides to play RW...his defensive skills suck

Ehlers is so much better than Risto, its not even fair lol, plus hes on a very good contract for a long time

I just feel like there are better options. Kevan Miller wouldn't cost more than a 3rd pick or a B prospect. Morrissey and Pionk should be able to handle the PP/Offensive end of things - Niku too.

Or Move Laine/Ehlers to say Carolina (pick one) or Calgary (Hamonic) as the centerpieces...

Risto's value has been decimated in the last couple seasons. His +/- is an albatross. Compound that with RHD like Brodie, Hamonic, Faulk and Honka available below traditional RHD values and Buffalo will need to realign their sights on their ask or run with either TVR or Risto in the press box.

If Risto is traded to the jets, Ehlers is not going to be part of it IMO. If Buf retires the jets can absorb his contract and will most likely only have to give up futures
