I see the team constructor has Rakell playing in the top 6. He's miles better than Joonas Donskoi or J. T. Compher and probably would outplay Andrei Burakovsky and Valeri Nichushkin on this team.

Getz has been interviewed and said he has no desire to go cup chasing and wants to reamin in ANA, while that can change I don't see it this year

This is a very good package but I feel ANA would want better roster players back than Jost and Kamenev who at this point in their careers are 4th liners with upside

Top Nine was mostly in reference to where the Avs might play him...they are ever seeking balance...they could slide him anywhere. Was not meant to be a slight to a solid player.

Avs move out 3 pieces they are under utilizing, add a solid 3C and more scoring. They have no cap crunch for two years (mentioned in notes, Getzlaf is basically taking Makar's salary) and they are going to lose a 4M player in expansion (Compher, Rakell, Bura, etc).

It totally accelerates it because you are adding big money, and have contracts due for Burakovsky, Nichushkin, Jost, Zadorov, Graves, Francouz and extensions for Makar and Landy, and don’t forget Girard’s contract kicks in next year. Also there is no guarantee a $4M player gets plucked in the expansion, as I could see Seattle targeting Graves.
