Ducks can't afford to take on more money (+$2.69 mil), all the while trading away 50% of the teams RD's...

Currently, they have $76.35 mil invested in 17 players. That would change to slightly over $79 on 16 players. So, somewhere between $4-8 mil to fill out a roster, with Gudbranson being the only RD.

Some of you Leafers blow my mind...you'd trade away your own mother if she had a bad day.

If you are going to trade Marner, you better get bonafide pieces for him. I would call neither Manson nor Rakell bonafide pieces worthy of Marner's value, and that is combined value. Sure, Josh Manson is a good defender that brings elements and pieces to his game that this team lacks, but with all the media hype surrounding his "potential" availability, his value has climbed much higher than it ought to be. Manson is not a top pairing guy, and yes, Anaheim may love him as a player, but that doesn't mean the Leafs have submit to their crazy and unrealistic values. If you are watching to trade Mitch Marner, you have to consider salary cap a huge part. So I would imagine you would want some young prospects and perhaps A+ defender prospects back. I would imagine only a few teams meet such a criteria.

Never seen a fanbase so easily willing to turn their backs on players. Remember when Nylander wouldn't sign a deal? The trash talking by Leafs fans was brutal and now he's their favorite player!

That’s a lot for Savard... and none of it is what Columbus needs... we don’t need wings or LHD... out side of Malgin, who has played more wing as of late, all you’re trading us is wings and a LHD... none of which we need. Columbus would have more interest in Kerfoot, Malgin and a 2nd for Anderson and Savard...

There isn't a single thing in that return to Columbus that is in the least enticing. We don't want futures, we need a roster #2C.
