Yeah I agree about the pick, I just did this because it looked better

. Though I think they shouldn't get the SJ pick and Batherson AND be able to get rid of Lucic's contract. But yeah, it probably needs to be the SJ pick going to Calgary to make them accept anything close.

Well it would be three years left on his contract, so it would expire before Lafrenière and Stützle would need to be resigned. And Bobby Ryan's contact would be expiring before Lucic's too. So Ottawa has room to take advantage under the salary cap.

I'm not a fan of adding any more bad contracts beyond next season. You're hoping for Development next year, but you still expecting them to be bad. Beyond that, I want the sens to be icing a competitive roster.

I think they will be icing a competitive roster, but they also need to leave cap space for their younger players, and Lucic will fill that space until Ottawa's younger players will need contract extensions. He'll also provide physicality, experience...etc for 3 years. His contract sucks but Ottawa can take advantage of their cap space for now.

Yup, they have too many LHD as it is, and the best PP in the league since the 1970's. Reilly probably wouldn't even make the team, he has zero chance of making the 1st PP unit.
