I say this as a neutral perspective who is often critical of the Leafs. I don't think this is all that "unfair"... just will never happen

Tkachuk is miles better than Nylander. Nylander is a one dimensional player who only has a good shot. He’s been riding on Matthews’ coattail alone with Marner.

Every team has that one or two guys their fans don't wanna see traded for Flames fans it's Lindholm and Tkachuk. But anyone else we will listen on lol

They have that natural feel for when their club isn’t as engaged as they should be and they wake the team up, whether it be a hit, fight or a scrum

Erik Johnson at $3.4m would get a much better return than a smallish 8 goal in 43 game middle-6 forward.

Needless to say Colorado would rather keep Erik Johnson rather than to effectively pay Andreas Johnsson $6m.

While I think Tkachuck is a bit better than Nylander, I don't see why TO would do this. 1) Tkachuck is going to cost huge money in 3 years. 2) Andersen is way better than Rittich. 3) I really like Nylander and want him to be part of our cup win.

Here's why 1. Tkchuck Matthews Marner line is an absolute nightmare for every match up. 2. Cap savings on Rittich you'll get him signed for under 5. 3. Matthew Tkchuck

Rittich is half the goalie Andersen is and I think Campbell may push him next year. Plus Tkachuk is going to cost 10+ in 3 years. So long term this causes bigger cap troubles.
